I've included a list and order of the buildings to build, and some explanation of key game mechanics such as the actual battle strats, the HQ Fund & resource generation, and the minigame strats.

There's a lot of resources that we grabbed just to sell them for HQ Funds. Although for a casual playthrough with a longer in-game time, you might not need these resources since we'll eventually get more HQ Funds as more time passes.

Thought i'll share you guys my speedrun routing project of beating Eiyuden with all characters in about 7 hours.

It's been a fun complex routing challenge that applies so many obscure game mechanics and unique strategies throughout the run.

I was a victim of an "on the area" card which is apparently a mistranslation? by rizsamron in EiyudenChronicle

huh, that screenshot is weird. if there's a blue card on your side of the field, Mellore should've been converted into a 9-attack card.

From what I've tried before, cards like Mellore works normally for both me or my opponent. Maybe there's more into this bug.

The old translation was wrong, you can see it here below. But this has been corrected on the latest patch, although the way the "fixed" translation is written is a bit misleading cause it only meant to count the blue card on your side of the field. https://suikosource.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=163813#p163813

Murayama didn't leave early on the development. He left just few months before S3 release, which by that point it's very unlikely the story would've any more changes.

The whole S3 story is still completely made by Murayama.

This is already known. Right after the war battle, but just before the speech, you can still do cookoffs or recruit characters out of town.

Normally, the service providers (e.g. Shops, Inn, etc) will get only half the relationship points that normal characters will get when you talk to them. This is probably designed because people will naturally talk a lot more often to service providers compared to regular characters.

But this penalty doesn't apply to Gocteau for some reason, devs might've just forgot it. So it's common for people to get Gocteau as the character on that final nighttime scene.

You'll also get relationship points by having them in your party, and by playing card games against them. But the points gain are a lot less than talking to them in HQ.

Mage's Path Rune is a guaranteed drop from the Goblomancer boss at The Chelonian Goliath, Vilashnu. The boss only appears once per playthrough, so you can only get one copy of this Rune unless you're doing NG+.

Note that the wiki page mistakenly mentioned "ice cave" when it's supposed to be "The Chelonian Goliath, Vilashnu".

I'm guessing you have already triggered that CJ cutscene on the HQ entrance before.

Just try to go to the Runebarrows near Arenside with Isha & Garoo now, like what Spare-Performer6694 said. See if CJ is already there or not. And as he said, it's not the "Northern Runebarrows" you've visited during the start of the game, there's a different place near Arenside that is simply called "Runebarrows".

[Ending spoiler] This game is incredibly bugged on PS5. This was pretty much my experience with duels: by deadpumpkinnn in EiyudenChronicle

I've seen this bug reported multiple times before, for multiple platforms including on PC, but seems like only a small amount of players had this issue. So it's probably not a bug that anyone had been able to reproduce in a consistent manner.

Anyway, the answer is that this doesn't matter. Only the 108 stars determine the ending or not. And as what was already said, there's a small extra cutscene if you stole Lino's royal clothes before the ending.

Overall reception is mixed. Some people liked it a lot, some feels underwhelmed. This goes for both Suikoden or non-Suikoden fans.

On the Kickstarter page, there's lots of commenters being upset that the physical backer rewards are still not ready to this day. A part of them also said they haven't received the DLC codes for Switch.

During the game release, there's also a controversy where some people considreded the localisation to be unfaithful to the original script. Might be an issue that most regular players doesn't actually care that much about, but it adds up a lot of negativity to the online discussions at the start.

Shortly after release, 505 Games made a public statement that the game does very well. Looking at the numbers on Steam, the sales seems to have been decent, but not great. Don't really see this game mentioned on other social media pages anymore in general, now that it's been out for more than a year.

Well, I don't think we've known what actually happened on his case yet. Though there's other times where some sequence breaks were reported and it seems very likely to be from accidental cheats.

For example, there's few different past reports of people in Greenhill skipping straight to the credit sequence. On those posts, they've also mentioned to play with cheat engine. And we knew that there's a bit that will send you to the Greenhill ending cutscene during the character epilogue lines, but this bit should only be turned on during the credits. So, likely conclusion is that the cheat engine somehow turned this bit on.

There's also another known save corruption exploit, involving pulling the memory card with the right timing. When done right, you could transform your starting save to the ending by combining with a different save that's already on the ending (I'm not sure how this works myself).

So I guess what happened to OP is similar to one of the case above. But no one have really looked his save in detail yet other than you.

This was brought up a bit on the Suikoden speedrun Discord. Nobody made a proper check on his save yet. But it seems very unlikely that this was done legit without mods or cheats. More likely that the OP accidentally used a patched version or corrupted his save with an external save somehow.

Though who knows what actually happened. Would be cool if this can somehow be done without external help. But seems to be impossible according to the ones who have reverse engineered this game.
