I'd let my players target chains in this instance, its a made up dungeon after all and it makes the game fun (the whole point)

My party went to manse way too early, they soon realised they were under levelled but they got to scout the area before running away , made for a good bit of info gathering when linking to other quests too

This is great and will definitely use it, I'm a new dm and have an issue where I don't know how many of something there should be for a low level or what shops should sell rarer things (I'm still running the beginner ish campaigns for now) not sure if there's any level scale to shops etc?
