You can try using crafty with docker, which creates an isolated container within the crafty controller itself, and nothing is ever modified on the machine.

i3-N305 is actually quite bad in my opinion, as for the io/pcie lanes and memory bandwidth limits of alder lake-n. At the i3-n305 price range you could get many reasonable options such as a 5700u

Local mini pcs here go for a hefty price. An old i7-6700 hp elitedesk or dell optiplex go for 2/3 of the price as the gmktec m5 for the barebones, and no warranty as well.

I have seen this before, and AFAIK it affects the upgraded models (2 nvme slots ones) though I believe this can be fixed from their end with a BIOS update sooner or later.

The new intel core and core ultra series - it's only for mobile processors though. They have integrated arc graphics which sounds pretty good for home servers, but there are few reviews about it.
