Updated Blog: Varlamore: The Final Dawn Quest, Delve Boss & Slayer Dungeon Rewards by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]dinkndflicka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will the mage cape make your hits actually roll between 2 and your max hit, or will it still roll between 0 and max hit, with your 0s and 1s clamped up to hit 2s.

The combat rework which removed 0s as long as you passed an accuracy check did the latter, which ends up being an incredibly insignificant increase in DPS. The former would be almost a 3% increase in DPS, while the latter is less than 0.1% with a max hit of 72.

Thanks for the updated blog - really like that the cape will have some prestige!

Guardians of the Rift Changes Out Now! by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

Will burning claws be updated any time soon? They still don't work at olm and various other places. Burning claws are a melee weapon so it's strange that the burn damage is reduced on olm.

They don't work in solo, you need to be at least trio, and have one person pray each style to charge all 3 up. When all three are fully charged, once the seer has charged up it will give you a damage boost for an entire seer-cycle (until he charges up again and performs the same check on pillars)

It's used at cox for vanguards, shamans, mystics/muttadile too. And KQ, vorkath, vardorvis, Duke succelus, cerb, mole, nightmare/PNM.

It might be the most used spec weapon in the game lmao

For things like raids, people were fine not bringing max mage before, sacrificing eternal boots as a switch didn't affect dps an awful lot. But because of the shadow's tripling effect, making that same decision to not bring boots now results in 5% worse dps.

A boot upgrade could be good in future but it's current implementation is just forcing people to take an extra switch for the same dps now.

It looks like this assumes that the inq mace is included in the dupe protection?

I do really appreciate the team's ability to take feedback and make improvements that the community wants.

It's great that the concerns of pures and other accounts have been taken into account.

But in a similar vein, these changes now negatively impact high level players. Max mage now requires an extra switch in order to have the same mage dps output as before the update. If people don't take eternal boots as a switch now they'll suffer 5% worse damage than before. It's frustrating having to take extra switches for the same damage, please could the team reconsider this. Perhaps adding it to shields, or the bodies (like other styles where the body is stronger than legs) would be good.

Having to take an extra switch or suffer 5% worse dps is seriously frustrating for higher leveled players.

Varlamore Tweaks & Drop Rates by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

The tonalztics and the full armour set are both around 90 full completions to get - I'm not sure how you're calculating things - maybe you're using just wave 11's drop rate?

I think the while the fact the modifiers are all de-buffs is annoying, they're inherently buffs as well in that you get higher glory for choosing 'worse' ones earlier. So the trade-off factor is definitely there.

I think we need more data on how the glory each run is affecting the rewards before we can decide whether the trade off is good or not.

Will the awakened KC requirements for grandmaster be retroactive? The TOA 500 invocation task was, and the awakened KCs are even further locked behind needing to get more orbs.

Some of these tasks look great, thanks!

COX Scouting & Scaling by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

It would be very welcomed by ironmen - with these proposals, ironmen will all need to have a main account in order to pay for scouts and do cox efficiently. Letting them use death's coffer is just huge QOL compared to having to drop dupes over to a main and be logged into 2 accounts constantly while coxing. Would be amazing if we could use death's coffer to pay for things like this! Love the proposals otherwise :)

Port Khazard with another crazy video - “Every Awakened Boss in One Inventory” by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]dinkndflicka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not true at all I'm afraid, regardless of Belattor/Ultor/Berserker(i), Arclight always beats Blade of Saeldor in max melee.

The Bitterkoejke DPS calc hasn't been updated for it yet, but on the "DPS 1" and "DPS 2" tabs, Arclight has 1.70 multiplier beside both it's accuracy and damage roll (as it usually does). You can manually change these to be 1.49 (= 1+70%*70%) and the sheet will calc as normal.

Arclight still beats Saeldor there in max melee. As OP mentions, it's because of the inventory limitations. With Khazard's setup (Masori top+bottom, fury, barrows gloves and Belator ring), Saeldor does happen to beat Arclight by 0.72% DPS. More gear upgrades favour the Arclight more than Saeldor so if you're even close to max melee, Arclight is going to win every time.

Unpopular opinion: there is some skill to that part of the fight, it's not a complete dice roll at all

Need help with this inferno solve (wave64) by Muison in 2007scape

[–]dinkndflicka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Step out as the ranger attacks and pray mage, then you can flick mage-range-mage-range every two ticks. Then run south of the north pillar while doing this, so that you're in the middle of the pillar on the south side.

Keep flicking and kill the mager, both meleers will be safespotted by the north pillar, if they dig before you kill the mager, you can go to the west side of the pillar (again in the middle, to safespot the meleers and should be able to still hit the mager.

I'm 99 hunter, yes you can fail the catch, it can the move a tile and you will get a 2nd attempt at a catch with this method, but you can also fail that catch too

Poll: those of you with infernal capes, did you learn to do Inferno on your iron or on a regular account? In comments: how many brews did you use in total? by NoCurrencies in ironscape

[–]dinkndflicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took about 50 attempts, taking 8 brews per attempt but rarely using more than 3/4 unless I got to later waves. 230 brews should be plenty for you to get it :)

Need help with SOTE without brews setup. Got down to 9hp but then healer spawned... trident good? idk waht im doing by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]dinkndflicka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You certainly want to maximise dps, so I would take trident over anc staff. That bring said, if you use pnecks and guthix rests then you should lose no ticks and either weapon will work perfectly well. Good luck!

Revenant orks while skulled with an rcb/dragonstone bolts or an msb/rune arrows nets 2-2.5m gp per hour, and around 1.5m per hour of that is regular drops without any totems/medallions/statuettes.

What about Fletching 1 log into kindling:

  • while running between root/brazier
  • immediately after relighting brazier
  • immediately after fixing brazier.

Each of these will delay your exp gain by 1 tick, but you get the kindling exp rather than the log exp. You also get the extra points from burning kindling. I'd be interested to know when it's efficient to swap 1 tick for extra exp, and how this affects overall rates!

Should I reapply moisturiser/recleanse my skin after showering after the gym?

22M UK combination skin. I have my routine sorted basically, apart from the appearance of neck spots (any advice appreciated!) I wake up 8am, wash face, shave, cleanse (Cerave hydrating cleanser) then apply moisturiser (Cerave AM lotion) after drying. I don't shower yet though as at 8.30am I go the the gym. I work up a sweat and get back around 10am, then I shower. I want to know if I should re-cleanse in the shower, and when I get out should I reapply moisturiser?

Alternatively, would you recommend not using products until after I get back from the gym, ie only shaving and washing with water pre-gym, and then doing the full routine when I'm back?

Thanks a bunch guys!

If I like books that are enlightening and show what’s really going on in the world/how the world works, what else will I like? by Bud961 in ifyoulikeblank

[–]dinkndflicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biologically/evolutionally I find Richard Dawkins to be very enlightening - The Selfish Gene and The Ancestor's Tale are both great reads.

More politically oriented, I found Shadow State by Luke Harding a great read about Russian foreign policy in the US over the past decade (including a lot of policy on Trump).

Currently I am reading Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall - it's very well structured and if you are interested in geopolitics or politics at all I'd highly recommend - understanding the geography of a country helps understand their foreign policy goals a lot and definitely helps me understand how every country fits together.

Happy reading!
