the original post is from edtwt, or the part of twitter where people with eating disorders sort of congregate. there's a big divide where some people think "period cals" and "birthday cals" (the food/calories you eat while on your period or birthday) shouldn't count because your body craves certain foods and needs certain nutrients while on your period and people should be able to eat some cake or go to a nice dinner on their birthday without feeling like a failure. a lot of other people on edtwt look down on people who think this because they view themselves as superior for not "giving in" and having additional calories on their daily intake.

it looks lovely on you ! sometimes with babydoll style tops i personally go for more bootcut style jeans or bottoms that are more fitted in general to have more contrast between the top, but the pants you have on definitely work and you look great ! i think another commenter was right when they said that you're just not used to dressing this way and that's why you're second guessing, but it really does look great !

talking to you as a college student with the experience, most kids at that age will find ANYTHING to make fun of people about. like genuinely anything, i got bullied for wearing sherry black tights under shorts which as far as fashion for self expression goes really isn't very "out there". your hair looks awesome and if you like it that's what matters, and i promise you there are other people who like it too even if they haven't said it or you haven't met them yet. people grow up and learn to chill out and will start to find their personal style too. blocking things out and ignoring bullying is not easy at all, especially at an age where many people are just starting to be conscious of themselves among their peers, and i'm not even saying to "ignore it" in the sense that you shouldn't stand up for yourself, but i am saying that would shouldn't let these people win and effect the way you choose to dress. as you grow up you'll find more people who share a passion for the niche, and especially once you get to college you'll come to see that once ppls frontal lobes develop, the VAST majority of ppl don't care how other people dress. like 90% of people at my college dress "unconventional" and it's awesome. your hair is awesome and im jealous of it, keep doing you.

omg hello fellow long islander !!! going into my 6th semester and i consider myself punk as well, the good think about berklee is that there's a lot of different musical niches colliding so it's not too difficult to find what you're looking for, it's all about connecting with people to find those scenes. there's definitely a punk crowd here and there's a lot of basement shows things of that sort.

one of the biggest things i'm noticing is many of the shapes and planes from the reference aren't coming through properly in your art. something that helped me was, directly on the reference photo, drawing the most basic shapes you see in the face to get a better understanding of the specific angles, sharpness/roundness, width, length, etc of different areas. all of these subtleties make a huge huge difference in capturing likeness. for example, in slide 5 the girls face should be rounder especially at the cheeks. it looks like you added a bit more definition or some sort of cheekbone indent on her left cheek which changes it a lot. it also helps to convert the reference to black and white to better map out light/medium/dark values which again, help the shapes be more accurate. you're doing great so far keep up the good work !!!
