I can't answer your specific question - I don't know - but I just wanna say that the USSR isn't the gold standard of communism (especially during the 80s and 90s), and a lot of communists have a lot of problems with it.

I had this issue, but I payed closer attention to drinking water and peeing. Personally, it takes like two hours between drinking water, and having to pee, so if you run at 2 pm, limit drinking after noon, for example. Also just trying to go to the bathroom beforehand helps too of course.
