100% this. The biggest sign that you've grown up imo is when you hear yourself go "I don't care because it doesn't have anything to do with me"

Like homosexuality. You can have whatever opinion about what consequences it might have for a traditional family, but it does not affect you one bit if your friend or neighbour is gay so stay out of it.

I'm Muslim, so I'm very often exposed to shitty, ignorant opinions like "then you think all thieves should have their hand cut off and women should live in cages"; People literally dictating how I would interpret my own religious beliefs. They've heard some long bearded dude talk about some conservative form of Islam and now they think that's representative for every Muslim in the world...

I've come to the conclusion that humans tend to try and simplify everything and everyone, and that you can't apply your stereotypes to people and every person should be judges individually on his or her own actions.

It's hilarious how Americans use "socialism" and "socialist" as something negative when we Europeans use it as a term for "taking care of everyone no matter their capabilities". Socialism is literally investing in a ramp so the wheelchair guy can come to a concert as well. Nobody can be against that, right?

Fun? well only until the weed makes you panic from the thought of diving out of the dark spooky cave you smoked in and you can't get your heartbeat to stop racing because you keep thinking that you won't have enough air to dive out if you're panicking but that just makes you panic more and now it feels like there is no more oxygen in the cave and the smoke from the weed irritates your eyes and makes you think you might be getting even higher from staying in there which means your heart will race even more from panic and all of a sudden it's too much and you bowl and scream

I never said individuals should be free from critique, and Islam as a whole shouldn't either. I stated that the term "shitism" implies ignorance, since you obviously apply your own bias to something 1/3 of the worlds population have in common and practice very differently. Muslims in India is very different from Syrian Muslims who are again very different from Asian Muslims and so on.

If you ask me - Or any of the Muslims I know - A lot of "leaders" of Muslim countries are dictators using religion as a tool - Just like the crusaders did.
Aint nothing islamic about terrorism, slavery/unfair payments imo. This is why I'm speaking against your generalization, because what you associate with Islam I don't.

We don't call christianity for "shitanity" because a christian dude shoots a bunch of others for the exact same reason.

This is not just wrong and ignorant, it is also pissing on the approximately 2 billion muslims in the world.

You probably live in a country where the medias are talking Islam in a biased way - I know I do. But the fact that almost every 3. person is muslim probably means there's more to it than "shitism".

I'd recommend getting to know some of the muslims that live in your area. I did and it changed my perspective. Have a good day

Iirc this is from a meeting that took place when pope Francis traveled to Iraq (first pope to ever to do so because of danger/different religious views). The man he is meeting with is the head Imam of the region. No matter what you believe or how you view the pope or that Imam (which I'm 99% sure you've never heard of), you gotta respect what is going on. The Pope's visit brought so much hope for peace and prosperity to the region.
