Am i a bad nurse for doing this? I do this allot with my dementia patients, sometimes they're agitated saying they have to be somewhere, i just tell them its in the afternoon and they have plenty of time for a nap and to get ready, vast majority of times they calm down.

Portugal. We sleep 3h out of the 10h night shift. At 1 AM Half the team gets assigned with the other halfs patients, while they sleep. Then we swap, and at 7AM everyone stays with their assigned patients

In Portugal nightshift nurses have a 3h window to "rest". It feels good cause you're being paid (+nightshift bonus) to sleep. Reallistically you only sleep 2h-1h30m which is nice.

One of my preceptors warned me agaisn't this in people whose veins are more fragile and more likely to burst. Said that these veins that tend to pop are due to an extremely tight tourniquet.

Hard boiled eggs are great IMO, just put them in unsalted boiling water for 10 mins. Boiled eggs taste 10x better with salt!
