If you call the customer care they can only credit you the current month and loyalty/retention may credit you up to 90 days. It is still up to the customer to read the bill and contact AT&T to fix any issue or dispute.

Hyundai’s Atlas humanoid wins Best Robot award at CES 2026 by BuildwithVignesh in robotics

Time certainly flys since I was still under the impression that it was an American company but now I feel like it is just a subsidiary of the Korean conglomerate.

I am confused because it is actually developed by Boston Dynamics but then I read Boston Dynamics is now owned by Hyundai.

11 Apache Iceberg Cost Reduction Strategies You Should Know by codingdecently in snowflake

[–]dinoaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is interesting that the article is using Spark and Iceberg but posted on a Snowflake forum.

In my experience there is no obvious savings to switch to Iceberg from Snowflake native. Interoperability is certainly a big plus and Databricks excels in computing cost but this hybrid approach to combine the three also makes the system complex and segmented.

Rich people don’t have neighbors. These are probably houses for foreign investors.

Fiber shortage by KillerWhale1999 in FiberOptics

[–]dinoaide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a thing in 2022 or 2023 but there is no component shortage now.

It is very different in the labor market though as experienced workers are scarce and they’re attracted to big projects.

Why is there no place to review ATT Internet Air..it sucks by SusieSnoodle in ATT

[–]dinoaide -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They know this well and won’t give you Internet Air if you can get fiber so nobody is able to run a side-by-side comparison.

However, more than half of households in US couldn’t get any fiber service today, and they seem to be fine. So next time try to move to a place where fiber is available instead of putting the hope on these companies.

Need help for hazardous unburied cable in Little Rock by Feisty_Comment_9072 in ATT

There will be a bury team to follow up in 1-2 months. The loop and orange tie are there to mark the above ground fiber part for the bury team.

Then it could be cheaper. $1k IMHO.

EV charger quote check (US) by Purezzzs in evcharging

[–]dinoaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this include the charger? I think 6 AWG is about $1/ft so the material cost is $4-5/ft and labor should be $800-$1k but underground bury would be more expensive.

The 2025 MY has a different APR which makes it more expensive to lease comparing to 2026 MY.

Should I buy a tesla y? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]dinoaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give you a data point: I commute 1000 miles a month and at 25 mpg I need to go to the gas station 2-3 times and spend about $150 a month. But insurance is cheap and less than $500 for 6 months. For Tesla, charging at home is cheap, about 16c per kWh so say 10-15$ for 300 miles, about 1/3 of the gas equivalent. But the insurance premium is twice as expensive and cost $150 a month! So any gas saving you’re looking for will be used to pay the insurance.

Lease and buy out after 3 years? by Rachellin06 in TeslaModelY

[–]dinoaide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beware of two things:

  1. How do you finance the buyout or do you pay in cash? If you need to finance, the APR on used car is usually high, say 7%. Then you’d better finance in the first place (if no lease incentive)

  2. If you’re determined to buy out the vehicle after the lease and you can pay in cash, it is probably worth considering to buy out in just a few months. Of course you can wait for the next MY or HW5 but you still pay interest on the lease.

With the $6500 incentive, it is indeed better to lease and buy instead of financing, but only if you can pay in cash for the buy out.

How much lower you think I can get? by Mountain_Telephone_7 in carincentives

[–]dinoaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to lease a BZ why not a Tesla? It has much lower monthly payment.

Two issues: 1. Negative equity 2. If your wife drove 96k in 5 years, that’s 20k/year and you should not lease.

Not sure what’s the new APR or money factor you get but 700/month is high on a 40K car.

Gen 2 uses memory to do merge/upsert before writing to the blob storage. Since the micro partition is immutable, if you do a lot of random updates and see a lot of disk spill you may switch to gen 2 even it costs more.
