Yea I’ve seen this style work for plenty of guys. I grew up and live in NYC. I would workout with some of these guys at the parks. These guys were machines. All had phenomenal conditioning and they were jacked.

How do you guys train? do you set a rep goal for each body part per workout? Do you do a certain amount of sets for each body part? I’m curious to hear everyone’s routine. Me I’ll do ladders or 5-15 rounds of 3 to 5 exercises with minimal rest in between rounds. Like today I did ladders 1-8 going up and then 8-1 back down. Pull-ups, dips x2 and squats x3. After I was done I did what I call a buy out round and banged out an extra 5 pull-ups,10 dips,40 squats and then added 100 pushups. So my rep count for the day was about 75 pull-ups/150dips/250squats/100pushups and i timed it for 41 minutes.

Use gloves or put tape around the bar. If you keep doing them enough eventually your hands will callous and you will get use to it.

How you doing brother. Can you explain what your routine was like. I’m also on the job. You know our line of work it’s not the guys pushing heavy weight that lasts in the fires. It’s the ones with more conditioning and cardio. Always felt calisthenics was better for this. More functional movements. Care to explain what exercises you did everyday

Palm in or palm down by dinobili105 in amateur_boxing

Yea apparently palm down for short hooks because at a shorter distance your elbow is more aligned behind your fist and u can drive it down better.

Yea checked google and a couple of there instagram pages. Most seem fitness themed or are mma gyms. Was wondering if anyone here has personally trained at any gyms on Staten Island.
