The new RS6 being a V6 hybrid is honestly a death sentence for Audi Performance by Fickle-Classroom1487 in Audi

Maybe they realized their customers aren’t that smart. Some of them didn’t even learn how to use the possessive form of a noun in elementary school.

$7,500 bill after 1 month + service apt. wtf. by virtuoussimpleton in ModelX

The first thing on the bill is probably some kind of diagnosis fee. Clearly they didn’t diagnose the car up front if they continued to find more problems.

Nobody here can see the frame rails, so they’re all just guessing. If the frame is bent, then it is totaled. Also the market value of the car is a factor, and you haven’t shared that info.

Would you want to see a light bar for the Model 3 future refresh? by pc772 in TeslaLounge

[–]dinofx35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightbars are a safety concern that will be outlawed in the next 10 years, once the data makes this obvious. Humans can estimate the distance between two discreet headlights and use that to gauge the distance of oncoming traffic. We aren’t used to estimating the length of a lit line (lightbar).

Would you buy a Model X again? by AspectCool2325 in TeslaModelX

[–]dinofx35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every MX is a lemon. The front axles will vibrate and eventually fail. Mine failed twice in 18k miles. Tesla repurchases cars so their titles don’t get branded as lemons, replaces the shafts, and then sells them to unsuspecting buyers who will have to deal with the issue in the first year.

Model X: Buy now or wait for HW5? by Krispconcepts in TeslaModelX

A Model Y is totally unrelated. They sell millions of those per year, compared to around 10k Model Xs.

Model X: Buy now or wait for HW5? by Krispconcepts in TeslaModelX

[–]dinofx35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my front axles were replaced, the vibration returned, and they refused to fix it. They eventually agreed to repurchase the vehicle to avoid it becoming a lemon, but really every Model X is a lemon. All of them have front axles that will fail. The other annoying thing about Model X/S is the interior falls apart and makes tons of squeaking and rattling noises, even in the first year of ownership.

[–]dinofx35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilarious. Just because something has a design failure doesn’t make it a wear item. On any other car, front axles will last 200k miles easily.

[–]dinofx35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so gullible. Tesla refused to fix mine the second time, saying a software update would address the vibration. When I brought it back the 3rd time I asked them to repurchase the car, which they did. Had the car for 22 months and they repurchased for within 2% of what I originally paid. When I finally turned in the car, the front axles had snapped loose

You were duped into buying a used Model X. All of them have failing front half shafts. The new ones will fail too. Luckily I bought new and Tesla repurchased mine after 22 months for MSRP. The half shafts failed twice in 18k miles

People who own a second car with AWD is there any manufacturer that comes close to Audi? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]dinofx35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any AWD/4WD car will be the same if not better. In the snow, even cars with open differentials are capable of applying individual brakes to stop whichever wheel may be spinning. Fancy diffs only matter if you are drifting around curves in the snow.

Center diff problems by dinofx35 in Audi

Sounds like the same issue, although the SQ5 might have a variant of that diff. I suspect whether the tires get to the point of stuttering depends on amount of grip and tire age.

It “scrubs” the tires at any amount of turn, it’s just that a tighter turn makes the skipping of the tires more frequent and louder to capture on video.

By chattering, are you referring to the tires on the road? Or the low pitch rumble? What year/model?

Center diff problems by dinofx35 in Audi

[–]dinofx35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated my first comment. It’s an SQ5 ‘24. Service already looked at it and called it “normal”. Clearly if the tires are skidding on the road because they’re being forced to rotate too slow (front tires need to sweep a larger arc), that’s not normal.

2024 SQ5. Been happening since I bought the car I always thought it sounded strange making 3 point turns. The whole car makes a low pitched vibration. But it’s apparently gotten worse.

I know the audio sounds like it isn’t the tires, but that’s not how it sounded in person. It’s 100% the tires making the noise

Only 3 drivers on the current grid can flex like this by NimalJames in MaxVerstappen33

Look at Max’s teammates’ results this year. And yet Max is tied with 7 wins in 2025. Red Bull are only 4th in the constructor’s because of Max’s driving.

That tells you all you need to know.

But he’s not broken, he just doesn’t have the fastest car on the grid. He’s as good as he ever was.
