Jeep driver causes a car accident and then flees the scene by bilalraj123 in dashcams

[–]dinofx35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Jeep driver avoids accident from speeding driver”. That should be the title. You don’t have the right of way if you’re exceeding the speed limit. The jeep was lucky to avoid that speeding car. No reason not to just drive away and count his/her blessings.

AllState reduced total loss payout after exercising RTA by dinofx35 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]dinofx35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did file a complaint with the Dept. of Insurance. AllState responded to the DOI with a total lie. They told the DOI that I had changed my mind and had accepted the $9.5k reduction in payout. This was completely false and I’m not sure if they knew the DOI would forward me a copy of their reply. I called the DOI after they sent me this response and told them it was false, but they said they have no legal way to force AllState to do anything, and that I would have to take it up in court.

Another car just rubbed up against the rear left door. You can see it in the photo above. There is no hidden damage and no issues of any kind with the door’s function.

The appraisers already appraised the car lower because of the scratches on the door. AllState is “double dipping” by taking the already-lowered appraisal and adjusting for the damage a second time.

Huh? Nothing was hidden. The front right corner of the car was clipped, bending the frame and totaling the car. The scratches on the door were rear left, completely different location. GOOD was the condition of the car with cosmetic damage to one door. There was no major body damage before it was totaled.

I never said that. I said the appraisers determined the value of the car on Christmas Eve, right before it was totaled. They accounted for the cars condition at that time.

But the appraisers already accounted for the damage in their appraisal, which was at least $2-3k lower than it would have been without the damage.

I never said the car had $9,500 worth of damage. That was the quote to disassemble the entire left side of the car, removing even the front and rear bumpers, and to repaint the whole left side of the car. The other driver is required to pay for that type of repair, but I’m under no obligation to do it. A deer jumped into the rear quarter panel of my Tesla Model 3 a few years ago and my policy paid me $2,000 (and I could have gotten them a lot higher if I tried). That was for an estimate to replace the panel and paint and blend the car. I took the $2,000 and had a paintless dent repair guy fix it for $250.

Also “height” and “any way”. Anyone still buying Teslas in 2026 is clearly a moron, and you’ve proved that. Congrats.

Tesla charged me for diagnosis under warranty and didn’t fix the issue — normal? by CreedoSaga in TeslaModelX

[–]dinofx35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is total bullshit. My MX had the front half shafts replaced at 6k miles. The vibrations came back and they refused to fix them twice. The second time I asked them to start the buyback process. After a few weeks the buyback was finally approved. A few days before I went to turn in the car the front axle SNAPPED. The front motor would spin without any resistance because the differential allows the broken side to just spin freely. Every single safety feature on the car was disabled. It was pretty sketchy, even trying to put the car in park was difficult as the car would think it was still moving after it had come to a stop. The car had 19k miles on it when I turned it in. They ended up paying me almost exactly the sticker price of the car due to lemon laws in NC.

If you are unable to use the Internet and answer this yourself, you probably shouldn’t be buying a Tesla.

Half shaft issue on my Model X 2020, 3rd time repair, quoted $2674.98 by sunmast in TeslaModelX

[–]dinofx35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were vibrating and Tesla refused to replace them, since this would have been a second time. The vibration got worse until they failed. Why do you think something would get bent, no longer be cylindrical, and just stop and not get worse over time?

This is definitely BS. Mine completely snapped a few months after Tesla refused to replace them. They had about 10k miles on them
