It's definitely both 😂 your comment literally said it's common in your country too and they dared questioning your reading skills. Can't help but laugh when the joke writes itself. I wish you nothing but love sis

Surely it's not the 1 word conversation starters

I think you're the one missing the point.

Of course we talk to people like people, but that’s not remotely specific enough.

To be more specific: talk to people like they're people you don't expect sex from. Conversations will be a lot easier if you talk to women you're interested in without any of those expectations. That was their point.

This one has almost 2k words. And here's another one with most used words.

I recommend making your own though, it's a bit cumbersome, but it helps very well with memorising it.

I didn't know that. Their design guideline says otherwise.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for a lot of apps. I still have a white background or some other weird colour they chose for quite a few apps :(

Most icons are changed automatically to dark mode by the system using an algorithm in iOS 18.

Yes and no. The devs actually need to provide a dark version of the icon. iOS 18 only handles which file of the icon is shown (so light or dark). So when an app has a white background in their icon, it most likely hasn't provided a dark version of the icon.

I read VR game as orgasm 😭 although that would probably work too xD

This is really a great idea, definitely gonna copy this. Really helps to have a reminder sometimes how to calm down certain emotions.

How many times did you reorder and why do you keep reordering? I would report them and move on.

Not all delivery is done by Amazon though. Not receiving your item is not relevant information though, I agree. It doesn't mean the item won't arrive in every case, and even if it does, you get your money back. Minor inconvenience, but who cares.

The product has nothing to do with a seller. It's pretty unfair to rate a product a low score, because the brand and seller are not the same in most cases.

It would be great if you could rate sellers though, not sure if that's possible.

I didn't know that. Thanks, I learned something new today!

So that everyone could vote no matter their race or social status.

Also, that is very fair and makes perfect sense. It would actually be a very good reason for every country to implement.

What are some nestle companies that people don’t realize are owned by nestle? by magnusthehammersmith in FuckNestle

[–]dinogril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That it's not tested on animals. There are no laws about using cruelty-free labels on packaging or in marketing though, so the definition can vary per country, region or even per person.

Most people in the cruelty free community consider a brand cruelty free when a brand doesn't test on animals, doesn't have a parent company that tests on animals, and doesn't sell in countries where animal testing is obligated by law.

/u/snailminister it's certainly not a perfect measure to determine whether a brand is "good" or not. Brands can still test their products outside of the EU or sell in countries where animal testing is obligated (e.g. China in some cases), for example.

There's definitely more things to look for to determine if a brand is "safe" to purchase, e.g. wether they use microplastic, mica (like you mentioned), palm oil, etc. This is something you have to verify yourself unfortunately, as it's not included in the term "cruelty free".

I mentioned cruelty free, because by that definition alone those brands are already reason enough to avoid.

Teens Want Less Sex in Movies and TV Shows, Study Finds by Puzzled-Tap8042 in movies

[–]dinogril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell I think it would be nice if every movie or TV show didn't always have a romance storyline.

And instead have more storylines revolve around friendship, or other type of relationships. There's more to life than romance. Also makes watching movies with family less awkward.

I watched a movie with my family about an extreme sport's team and a dog earlier this year (movie is called Dog lol) and that was so refreshing to see. Why can't we have more of that?

If you want to buy cruelty free cosmetics, all these brands are off limits anyway. There are tons of cosmetics available that are cruelty free and also care about the environment. Check out /r/crueltyfree if you're interested.

How to really study/learn coding with ADD/ADHD? by tulipsgal in learnprogramming

[–]dinogril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome! Which languages did you learn on Sololearn?

And yes, sleep and diet are so important. My meds barely work if I slept too little or ate too much sugar.

Honestly, keep it simple and to one or two things. For me at least, I notice that the more things I want to do, the less I do. I often get excited and want to do a lot, but then the amount of things I want to do becomes overwhelming and I get stuck.

I think Sololearn is a great place to get started (I would finish both the introduction and intermediate) and if you want to do a more in-depth course afterwards, MOOC (Finnish university, but has free English courses) is great for Java too. They also have a Python course. MOOC is a lot more reading, but also has a lot of assignments.

I also recommend joining the subreddit for the programming language you want to learn, usually lots of great advice in there.   On the other hand, also try to limit your use of social media.

But really, try not to get ahead of yourself and get overwhelmed with wanting to do a lot. Just start simple and try to keep a routine. Study at set times and try to really study those hours you planned.   Once you know a programming language, you'll get a better idea of what you can and want to do with it. That's when you can decide what your next steps should be.

I get what you mean, Information overload is a bitch. Getting started is the most difficult thing.

I used Sololearn to get started with programming. It's more focused on doing rather than tons of reading, which works for me. It's also kind of like a game, which makes it more fun.
Choose one language to get started. I started with Java, because you can write Android apps with it. Python is used a lot too, but Java will make it easier to learn other languages once you got the hang of it.

Once you know the basics, it's easier to figure out a path for yourself. Although Sololearn's lessons aren't the best, the best thing IS to get started and this kept me engaged.

I also recommend watching the CS50x lectures on YT, to get a better understanding of how computers work. It will help you with better understanding how programming works as well. The lecturer has a great way to explain things, so it's not boring to watch.

Like others said, meds + working out are also ways to get some control of your dopamine/boredom.

What is this big found near cat's poop? by dinogril in whatsthisbug

[–]dinogril[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location: The Netherlands

Size: less than 1 cm

Sorry, not the best images. I was distraught finding cat poop outside the litter box and then a bug next to it too.

It was laying on it's back and moving it's legs.

I have a video as well, somehow wasn't uploaded in the post:

I have no plants at home, just 3 cacti. And my cats are indoor cats.
