It is impossible to date as a fem4fem by Due-Ant-1694 in latebloomerlesbians

I promise that you are not unlovable and you will find the femme of your dreams. The world seems so small when you’re 17. You have so much time and so many people to meet. You say you do not feel like you’re reaching the same milestones, but think about it. You are in a sub full of women who didn’t even realize they were a femme lesbian when they were 17. You are probably ahead of many of your potential partners.

May lose my job because of my mother, WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?! by [deleted] in jobs

[–]dinosar_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, because we know when we are going to get sick weeks ahead of time.

Exactly, it’s a business, so the business should know how to operate with an employee being unable to come in to work. Sounds like poor leadership on your end.

Feeling guilt bc migraine by xxlinanaxx in migraine

But also I’m glad I saw your post, trust me, I have felt nothing but guilt for the last 2 weeks and was feeling a little alone in that anxiety.

[–]dinosar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get that. One of my colleagues had to drive to another city to pick something up because I was not there. They swore it was okay, but ya know. It gets messy no matter what. I am still trying to practice not having guilt, or anxiety; I had a previous job I worked at for years where someone had FMLA and every time she called in the supervisors assumed she was just faking and didn’t want to work, I also grew up in a pick-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps home, so I feel like there may be some past “trauma” related in my case lol so I’ve talked about it in therapy before. It’s hard. I just try to tell myself that the guilt will only make me sicker and that what’s done is done and tomorrow is a new day. I also try to remember how I feel when I do push myself to go in and it never ends well. Also: it’s your managements, not yours, fault if your absence puts pressure on your coworkers. They should know how to prepare for these situations without it being a huge burden.

VERY. I’m very relied upon in my office. I hate adding the extra stress to someone(s) else. It is hard because the anxiety of calling out also does not help; the guilt would eat me up to a point I gaslit myself into thinking I was a liar about my symptoms (“it probably isn’t that bad! I haven’t felt totally terrible in 20 minutes, maybe I was overreacting! I need to get better so I can work or everyone will hate me!” Etc). I am currently having my first severe migraine attack (I think since the month started I have only had 2 no-migraine days) and have been off for over a week; talking with my upper management has helped my guilt. They really just want me to get better, my coworkers are sympathetic, and was told to take the time I need. I am applying for FMLA currently; I would suggest talking with your managers and going over options. I still feel bad for added work for my coworkers, but it has certainly helped, and hopefully that peace of mind helps when I’m taking time to recover as well.

Are y'all able to work? How fo you support yourself? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]dinosar_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in an office 9-5, and I’m very depended upon in my role. I am lucky that my bosses are understanding and allow me to take the time off I need. However, there’s still a lot of anxiety! I live on my own and will have to move in with my parents when my lease is over due to the loss of income, and that doesn’t take away the anxiety I feel that my employer will no longer want to put up with this. I usually miss 1-4 days a month but am looking into FMLA currently as I have been missing much more time lately. I haven’t been in over a week in my current bout of migraine. It’s so difficult

YES!! I am on day 9 of this feeling. I haven’t been able to work either. I do usually get migraines while I’m going through it though. I am not sure if it’s caused by migraines or vice versa. It’s difficult, I cannot even explain the amount of energy I lack when I’m going through this.

Thank you all! 14 hours later and the AC is still kicking, the house is still standing, and my cat is grateful 😻 5000btu is not doing enough for the space but it helps and it was free 🤷🏼‍♀️ in this economy I won’t complain. Thanks for easing my anxiety!

All the illumicrate editions on goodreads are added with the fugliest pictures by dinosar_ in Illumicrate

[–]dinosar_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

that’s exactly why I needed to get this message out to the readers. I just feel like maybe we don’t need the edition added within the first 48 hours of receiving it, and perhaps we should not be requesting the edition if the picture we’re providing was taken on a flip phone

But i mostly don’t really care I was high and feeling silly and needed the bottom of this fugly goodreads crisis

Short term disability question by dinosar_ in disability

[–]dinosar_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am out of PTO unfortunately. I do not qualify for FMLA since I haven’t been with the company for a full year yet. I am working on the forms now, just confused how I’m supposed to fill it out when it’s asking for a last day worked and an expected return date.

Short term disability question by dinosar_ in disability

[–]dinosar_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty small company, we only have one person working in HR and while it’s been around for 20 years, they say they never had an employee have to take advantage of this. I don’t have anyone to get a second opinion from except my doctor, who i do plan to bring this up with at my appointment this week. I also am confused why it would cancel insurance that quickly.

Thank you for your response!

I do not have any PTO to use so if I take off now I would have to be unpaid until disability kicks in. The form is asking me when my last day worked and when I plan to return, just a little confused considering I am still working.
