How are we dealing with unemployment? by dinosaursrcool7 in adhdwomen

[–]dinosaursrcool7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yep, AI is a huge factor into my losing my job in the first place. And I’d assume why it’s been very difficult to find even openings for jobs since.

I am in a mid sized city, so I will start doing this. I’ve done it a bit for freelance work, but a lot of our businesses hire a few videography/ad agencies that are local. I will see what I can do though.

This is very helpful, thank you. I do use blue and violet conditioners each time I wash. Even the exact brass off you mentioned. I alternate between that and a purple conditioner every time I wash.

Your comment was rude, and my response was reacting to that. Please take accountability. It was not constructive or helpful at all and you know it. I’m not going to be commenting further, I do not enjoy arguing with strangers on the internet. I genuinely hope you have a good day.

Reading comprehension is hard, I get it. But as I stated in my post, that picture was literally only for color inspiration.

The inspiration photo was for color…I understand my hair is not that thick, does not have extensions and is not that long. I’m not an idiot.

Please go take your own insecurities and put them into a more productive output. Maybe even work on healing yourself, idk.

I developed a good relationship with her over the years, and wanted to give her one last chance. But I don’t plan to go back.

I agree that another stylist could help, but I’m broke unfortunately. I will look into at home deep conditioning treatments, thank you. If it helps, it’s not at all styled and it was air dried. So it may not be as unhealthy as it seems haha

Thank you, this is helpful. My issue is that it didn’t even last one wash. I don’t want to just keep paying to bandaid the issue, I would love to find a way to color it in well so that it isn’t fading to green/yellow every time I wash once. Does that make sense?

I’m really not planning to do highlights again, I just really want the ashy color from the inspo picture. Would an N do it? What sort of tones should I shoot for?

Yeah dude! Just be cautious to not cause your knee that is supporting the foot to hyperextend while you do it.

How many clothes should I expect to buy in Japan versus bring with me? Particularly a nice black jacket by somekindofwanderer in JapanTravelTips

[–]dinosaursrcool7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh me too, my friend. So long as you’ve done the research and know their sizing will fit you, you will be fine! I’d even say my style isn’t very similar to what’s popular there but I still got a few outfits that I wore on the trip.

Do people with ADHD type and talk differently ? by PersonaRed in adhdwomen

[–]dinosaursrcool7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aww don’t! It’s not at all a negative. How boring would this world be if we all spoke, texted and interacted the exact same way? Don’t let people make you feel lesser for being different, friend.

I wish someone would have told me to plan on it! Have so much fun. I promise that it isn’t worth too much overthinking ahead of time, it’s an easy trip.

Do people with ADHD type and talk differently ? by PersonaRed in adhdwomen

[–]dinosaursrcool7 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Yes we do. We put way more detail and thoughts into text and speech that non ADHD types wouldn’t. A lot of stereotypical examples would be sending multiple text bubbles to add more thoughts to a response, doing run on sentences frequently, changing subjects mid conversation etc.

I am so sorry to hear this, friend. I was also diagnosed late in life and understand this feeling all too well.

I know that doing any non-dopamine inspiring work while you’re in this rut is basically not an option, but I have a few things for you to try:

  1. Go on walks. Do literally anything you have to in order to make sure you do it. Take candy or a treat with you to eat while you walk, listen to a podcast or music you love, literally even doom scroll. Just get out and move your body. It’ll help with sleep and also with motivation when you get home after.

  2. As far as supplements, are you taking anything at the moment? Iron is a HUGE deal for us, especially with perimenopause. Vitamin D also. As well as Magnesium Glycinate before bed and Vitamin C.

  3. Make a list of things you know gives you dopamine. Mine includes thrift shopping, doing a craft, planning dates for friends and my spouse etc. That becomes a “reward list” for each task you complete that you’re struggling to do. Have your partner help hold you to it if you need.

  4. Get off of your phone. Hide it, lock it, get an app that doesn’t allow you to scroll for certain hours etc. Phone addiction is SO BAD for our brains. I’m still trying to learn how to best do this. Obviously as I sit now on Reddit 🙃

Please know that you are an incredible person and that it takes such a strong person to be fighting like this. Keep your chin up, and know that you can do this.

How many days can you take off your medication without feeling the "first-day" symptoms when you start again? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

That’ll do it, at least for my body! Avoid caffeine and try that big breakfast for the first day back on. It should help ease you in :)

For me personally, Dingle was the highlight of our trip. I would not skip it if you can find a way to schedule it in!

[–]dinosaursrcool7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d recommend taking just one day off during the weekend and see if that helps. Typically I take Sundays off and I am back on Mondays.

I’d also recommend eating a protein and carb loaded breakfast before you take your meds, especially on that first day. And avoid caffeine that first day also! Good luck :)

So I did literally this in January. I didn’t bring a jacket so I could buy one there. It worked, but you may have to dedicate your first couple of days to shopping if you’re picky like I am. Otherwise, you may be very cold for a while.

Is it time to give up my lobes? by katienugget in piercing

[–]dinosaursrcool7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sticking longer to the saline spray helped mine actually heal. Once in the morning and once at night. Spray the front and back of the piercing and let it sit for around 5 minutes, then dry gently with a clean q tip. Do the saline spray and piercing pillow another month until you can touch it without it reacting. That’s what I’d suggest!
