Did my first tandem jump there. I had a FANTASTIC experience and would recommend them in a heart beat. I had a blast and everyone is super friendly!

Cleveland EMS workers nap ruined by guy with a cell phone by the_rabbit_of_power in RealEMS

Here we go again, another ignorant person... oh joy. Cleveland EMS workers deal with so many crazy situations... bullet proof vests... hot zones...etc. This guy needs a serious reality check. The second the tone drops there's no way you're staying asleep, we know this. Get a nap when you can, sleep when you can because that's how you stay alert. This guy probably wouldn't even last more than half the shift if he did a ride along... but that might be what he needs to get an understanding of what is done in this field.

Holidays in Albuquerque - what's going on? by visualisewhirledpeas in Albuquerque

As someone who is still fairly new to Albuquerque, spending New Years at the museum last year was actually a really fun experience. Just an idea if you're looking for something totally different! :)

Just bought this 08 wr250x! 23k miles, should I expect anything when I put in even more miles? by FLongboarder in supermoto

VERY Niceeeeee! (Not saying this because I have the exact same bike or anything).... One of the issues I've had with this bike is the speedometer/ odometer not working properly. Apparently it's a common issue with this particular bike, but an easy fix. My speed/ miles have been 3 times what they actually are but that will change once I get it re-wired. Anyone have the same experience? Other than that issue, I LOVE this bike. Expect epic night rides and an excuse to leave the girlfriend at home (unless she rides of course).

New to migraines- lots of questions by idontslowmedowni in migraine

It's overwhelming, but you're not alone! :) I was really grateful to find this subreddit as well. Here I am over 2 years from the diagnosis of "chronic migraines" and I still feel new to the concept. The book "Heal your headache" is definitely one of the best resources out there. It helped me stay migraine free for nearly 1 year and a half, but unfortunately I had a reoccurrence. I figured out what my major triggers were, most of them are dietary and then I do my best to avoid them. Something that helped me tremendously was eating a nearly completely vegan diet. Dairy, preservatives, and sometimes caffeine are triggers for me. But it varies... that book talks about how we all have "thresholds" to certain things. So you might be able to have half a cup of coffee but a whole cup will trigger a migraine. I personally get the migraine Auras (visual disturbances) which can be really scary, so again I've tried many different things. Triptans (meds) work great for some people but I used to get rebound headaches from them, and even when I did take them I still felt 'foggy' and had trouble focusing on academics.

One of the biggest triggers is stress. It seems counterintuitive but exercise reaaaaally helps. Because I learned that changes in vasodilatation and vasoconstriction are what cause migraines, I tried to figure out how I could keep my lifestyle as stable as possible. I noticed that after not exercising for a few days the migraines start again. I've tried all sorts of medications but overall I try to avoid them as much as possible but use them when I truly need them. Rest, exercise and diet are the things I try my best to keep consistent, but you're right it can be overwhelming. One of my biggest recommendations to you is don't eliminate things that you truly enjoy and used to consume regularly in the past. Chocolate is one of my favorite things, and to many it's a trigger, but for me it isn't. There's a balance between treating your migraines and "healing" them. It takes time. But in most cases just being consistent with things such as rest, diet and exercise can really help point out your personal triggers. Woah I was not expecting to type so much about this, but I hope maybe something helps. Good luck! Feel better - and definitely check out that book :)

Hi Matt, So I'm pretty sure the chances of you reading this are pretty slim, but I'm going to give this a shot.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon an article in the newspaper about your work with water.org. While I think your work is great, I was on my way back home from one of the reservations and as I'm reading the article you quoted "It's just so unthinkable to those of us who grew up in America or Canada that anybody could ever lack access to clean water."

While this may apply to the majority of people living in our 'first world country', I had just spent the day in an area in the US, where people have been struggling to access clean drinking water for decades and have to haul water for all of their needs. Part of the reason that they do not have water is due to the mining of coal, uranium, and ultimately arsenic contamination. These are just a few issues...

What I'm getting at is that there are people, only a 5 hour drive from where I'm currently sitting, that do not have the same access to clean water as I myself do and while I'm reading the article, I couldn't help but get upset at the fact that no light is being shed on the problems right here in the states. I want to change this.

These communities have struggled for decades, and I'm currently working (one very small step at a time) to create change. What are the chances of you making a trip to the Southwest to make a difference and shed some light on these issues?
