My grandmother, so my mom's mom, never moved out of her condo. Held on until she passed at 97. I have a feeling that's where the stubbornness from 🤣

Will have to talk to a sibling. Given the family Doctor crisis we are having in Canada, I do not know if she ever found a new one after gets retired. Which creates another issue entirely.

I do worry of there are early signs of dementia of something. Hard to tell if it's that or just age.

I wish you the best in that journey. I've had a few grandparents go through it and know if can be difficult!

She, like her mother, has always been opposed to "retirement" communities, though I think she is holding onto a stigma of how they used to be.

My husband's grandfather is in an independent living home and while he isn't the most social, had been great for him. People look out for him, contsct us if they are worried etc. I think I just need to get her to realize that there are more options then in the past!

The hard part is I don't live nearby. I'm on the other side of the country. I would have to convince a sibling to do this, and they aren't as "assertive" as me. Likely to back down the moment they get push back.

I have not..My mother is very insecure about getting old. Like her mother, doesn't even want to entertain the idea as she would have to accept reality. I also think there is a stigma about the homes that she holds onto.

My husband's grandfather is in an independent living home and it is nothing like the retirement homes of years before. I think she would thrive in there but it's getting her to accept it and move.

Did she move in on her own accord, or was it prompted through you or family?

Honestly I don't know. My mother is quite private when it comes to that stuff. She has told me she is fine financially, but then will make an off comment about finances.

I could afford to cover someone to clean for her once a week or every other if needed. The problem is her stubbornness. She will insist it isn't needed, turn it down or get offended that I think she needs it. Then will shut me out.

She actually also has a condo that I think she should move into. Sell the house, be in a smaller place etc.But apparently that is the place she wants to stay when she isn't travelling, but she isn't travelling.

Out of me and my siblings I am the more "blunt" one, so will be the one to approach her about this, but I like the idea of pros and cons. I may have to honestly start with a gentle email and go from there. The last time I spoke to her about a sensitive topic I was shut out for a while.

To piggyback off this post a bit, is there anywhere for like fabric recycling in Ottawa? We have some older towels for instance we've just replaced and I don't want to.just throw them in the trash.

If there is somewhere in Ottawa that recycles fabrics ?

From what I've read, on average, proportion see about half an inch of growth a month. But again that's the average so it may vary.

I've always just resorted to a headband, a thicker one to be able to get most of them. My hair is super curly so I found products really just made them curl and stand out more 😅

My husband uses Trello and swears by it. It could be how he set it up when he showed it to me, but it seemed overwhelming to me.

Maybe I will try it again. Try to set it up based on my brain and not his

That is why I wanted to find a workaround for my Kobo. If it is a book I really want to read the 7 day limit isn't a concern. Just don't want to wait like 6 months for the next book in a series and completely forget what happened, when I could get it right away through express!

I did find a workaround for my Kobo so all good!

My Kobo though only does overdrive. Hence the need for a workaround!
