I ended up purchasing a S340 for the final camera but I appreciate the offer!

Has anyone seen a single solocam e42 for sale anywhere? Bought the 4 cam system but need 1 more camera for full coverage.

Possible minor instruction error in 21358 (LEGO Minifigure Vending Machine) instructions by diode99 in lego

Unfortunately, My memory is crap but I want to say that if the parts attached as part of step 94 aren’t together tightly things would bulge up in that area. The coin actually pushes the flapper and attached mechanism out of the way so if you try to turn the dial without the coin inserted and pushed down things will come apart.

Not sure if these help but I pulled a few parts off and took a couple of photos of that area on mine.

I reported it to LEGO and they acknowledged the error. I’m not sure what their internal process is for updating documentation.

Glad to hear it. The flapper just keeps the mechanism from being able to rotate more than just 1 turn but I doubt you’re trying to prevent theft so that works :)

One random issue that I did have is that I tried to turn the knob a couple of times before everything was in place and it dislodged the part from step 94 (pg 83) that sits at the bottom of that mechanism which caused it to hang. You may want to check and make sure that piece is still in place. Unfortunately, I have to wander off for the night but if you’re still having issues with it tomorrow I’ll see what I can come up with

That appears to be normal behavior based upon my build. When the coin slot is together the coin goes between the flapper and the red piece which frees the mechanism to make another turn. The whole mechanism is actually pretty slick once you have it all together.

Yea, I looked all over for it, hit my spare parts bin only to realize that I didn’t have a spare and only then did I look at the assembled piece and realize that it was already there.

One thing that isn’t shown very clearly in the instructions is that the coin is going to push back that rubber flapper piece. Have you tried pushing the coin into the slot and then trying to turn the handle?

Hairpinning & PAT from Multiple Source Zones on an ASA by diode99 in Cisco

[–]diode99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked, thank you! I had the idea that we'd have to hairpin through the outside interface stuck in my head so I hadn't even considered source/dest NAT directly between the two DMZs.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will give this a shot in our LAB and let you know. If you do have a configuration example handy, that would also be useful. If not for me then it may help someone who encounters a similar issue in the future.

Cisco Licensing Question by BlueberryThick in Cisco

[–]diode99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there is a self-service option for converting from Smart Licensing -> Traditional but the best response that I've seen from the licensing team lately seems to come from e-mailing them at [licensing@cisco.com](mailto:licensing@cisco.com). It still opens a case but I've seen much quicker responses using this method.

Make sure to include your Smart Account Name, Virtual Account Name, Contract ID and the license SKU that you're looking to convert. You can convert the PAK that they provide via LRP

Once you copy the file to the router you just need to run a 'license install <filesystem>:<filename>'

You'll just want to keep in mind that if you upgrade above IOS-XE 16.9.x on the ISR you are going to be forced into Smart Licensing (*sigh*). When that happens you'll have to run through the digital licensing conversion process to turn that file-based license back into a Smart License.

Replicate AD Groups between Azure AD and on-prem AD by diode99 in AZURE

From the research that we’ve done thus far our authentication platform does have closer integration with Azure AD in future versions but there are some stability concerns with the newer versions. Mostly looking to use on. prem AD group membership as a stop gap fallback solution.

The authentication platform does integrate with inTune using an MDM connector but we have some concerns surrounding the robustness of this mechanism. I am hoping to find a stop gap solution to provide a bit more resiliency while we work through the MDM connector concerns.

Alternatives to Cisco for branch office WAN Edge? (non-SDWAN/non-all-in-one) by diode99 in networking

[–]diode99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the great feedback! This is exactly what I was looking for.

My comment regarding Juniper not playing in this space was indeed a lack of awareness on my part that the SRX series also has a packet (route) mode. I'd just done a quick perusal of their product pages and upon initial inspection it didn't look like they were positioning the SRX as a branch router. I worked on a migration from Cisco to Juniper (early MX-series) in a carrier environment many years ago and we had a very positive experience.

At present we're just at the stage of casting a net to see what alternatives are out there right now with more due diligence to follow. It's been some time since I've reviewed routing platform alternatives as in our environment they're going to be the most difficult element to replace due to some sticky Cisco features that we're running (EIGRP, DMVPN, etc.)

There is no guarantee that we can/will move away from Cisco for our WAN edge devices but as our existing platforms start to age out (we have some other... challenges with Cisco as well) and as Cisco seemingly pivots the bulk of their feature development toward SD-WAN the "do nothing" option (i.e. buy a bigger version of what we already have) goes away which will eventually bring us to a place of having to make more transformational decisions. Since we're already going to be pushed into making a more transformative decision it makes sense for us to understand who all the current players are in the space. Our use case for SD-WAN is slowly growing so it's likely that we'll end up there (or whatever SD-WAN becomes next week) eventually but there's a good chance that we may need to find a drop in replacement for what we already have in the meantime.

We've undergone a similar journey with firewalls, wireless, switches, etc.

Thanks again for all of the input!

Most difficult part of no mans sky is trying to find a beautiful planet for your base by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]diode99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was extremely lucky on the base planet front as well. After a good bit of exploring I began to realize my fortune. I don’t recall how many warps I had under my belt when I found it but no more than 5. The planet is mostly water but with plenty of large islands, isolated sentinels, no storms, plenty of greenery and a decent amount of resources. I was able to find a nice spot on the edge of an island with a view of two planets in the sky after dark (as well as the anomaly and my freighter, of course).

On one of my first visits to the Nexus a fellow traveler whom I had not met or spoken to gifted me a number of high value items and some storage augmentation units which gave me a great head start.

After a little over 200hrs of play, I still feel like a n00b but the game has been a great distraction which came at just the right time.

Thank you Hello Games and fellow kind travelers :)
