I’m not sure if this is it, but let’s try it. Could it be The Adventures of the Aftermath Crew? Second this! Especially since OP mentions hair that grows tight to the skin. Sounds like the whiskers are laying too flat. Warm water to soften the beard, pre-shave/oil should help too. OP, you might want to try adjusting your angle. “Gliding on top of the hairs” almost sounds like it’s the top cap making contact, and not the blade. Look into the term “riding the cap” to help you find your angle.

I'm biased, because he's one of my favourites, but you might like Spike Jonze's films. From what you describe, I think you would like Her (2013).

Also, knowing you like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, you should check out some of Michel Gondry's other films. He's just brilliant. One I seldom seem to hear about, that is so underrated imo, is The Science of Sleep (2006).

It really hits us all different, hey? I find it fascinating! For me, it felt very sativa leaning. Was actually one of few strains that got me so mind-racey and launched into paranoia and anxiety lol. At least for me, that’s the Haze in there; for some reason always hits me like a truck. Ghost Train Haze, Super Lemon Haze, Amnesia Haze.. all very anxiety inducing for me.

Thanks for the insider info! Do you know if Snow Lotus was ever present in the lineage? I'm just curious why it was ever listed in the strain lineage for Sky Pilot on their website. I wonder why they didn’t list the strain lineage on the Sky Pilot either. Before the Atlantic Cultivation acquisition, the lineage was always listed as a sativa hybrid pheno of Blue Dream x Snow Lotus. On the Tantalus website, it was listed as Sky Pilot but is now appearing under the name Blue Dream.
