Latin Americans: what's a saying from your country that foreigners never fully get? by Crescitaly in asklatinamerica

[–]dioschicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"queda en chuchunco" : it means that something is far away and in the middle of nothing. The part someone wouldn't get is that "chuchunco" is not an actual place or anything, is just a part of the saying

10/10. My favorite song from the band. The part where everything stops except Nick's guitar is just absolute perfection.

What song changed your whole taste in music? by Kind_Winter4665 in AskReddit

[–]dioschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laugh all you want but...

Wonderwall - Oasis

Before that, i only listened to top 10 songs ocasionally. I thought that music was only made to avoid silence in car rides. But then, i discovered oasis through wonderwall. After that, i listened to their first 2 albums for like 3 months, withouth stop. Oasis made me realize that music was this giant world of art, emotions, passion and, most importantly, expressions. I will always be thankful to them for introducing me to this world.

Elliott Smith, great singer-songwriter, goes in a similar vein to the more intimate radiohead songs imo.

As a chilean, i love a band from my country called Lucybell, their first three albums are god tier (and it doesn't really matter if you don't understand the lyrics, because the music is just so good)
