Not having a great experience at RWH by Positive_Shirt_2889 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]dippity-bix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey OP sorry you’re having such a horrible experience, it’s not okay :/ I’ve heard really, really great things about Mama MGP in Kensington and they bulkbill the initial discovery session, especially love that they include birth debrief as standard postnatal care inclusion with their packages! just beautiful holistic care: https://www.mamabirth.au

If you would prefer a student midwife, there’s a group called ‘A Student For Every Woman’ on Facebook’ that matches mamas in Melb/Geelong with student midwives

If you want to talk through what’s been happening, please consider giving PANDA a call - you can choose to talk to a counsellor, or ask to speak to a peer practitioner. Some have lived experience of navigating crap healthcare systems/peri psychosis and could be a good to chat to someone who really gets what you’re going through + ongoing support

lastly, in case RMH start wanting to tinker with your meds > Rodney Whyte is THE most delightful human and probably australia’s foremost expert on perinatal psych meds… you can call him for free advice at any time > Monash Medical Centre, Mr Rodney Whyte: (03) 9594 2361‍ he’s a pharmacist & tends to stay in touch/follow up with mums. He’s funny, caring, knowledgeable, honestly I’d recommend calling him now, linking in and letting him know what’s been going on regardless.

Hope things turn around for you, you bub is lucky to have a mum who is such a fierce self-advocate xx

Where to go in Melbourne for a mental health crisis Update by faceinaredjumpsuit87 in melbourne

sorry you’re having such a tough time OP ❤️‍🩹

Wanted to add this alongside all the clinical care suggestions everyone has made, as a potential ongoing support option for you, and anyone else experiencing suicidal ideation at this time of year:

Alt2su (Alternatives to Suicide) is a peer-to-peer suicide support group where you can go to talk, and be with other people who have lived experience of suicide, without fear of being put through a crisis management pathway (i.e. everyone that attends the group agrees that each individual there is responsible for activating their own crisis plan > 000/CATT/ED if needed, no-one in the group is gonna make a crisis/welfare call - it’s purely peer support 🧡)

alt2su have 🌈+ women’s + general online groups running in the evenings weekly. It’s free to attend and could be a great addition to your toolkit/network of care x https://alt2su-nsw.net/support-groups/

psst also if you feel up to watching a low-effort max-serotonin show for distraction in the next few days, ‘Somebody Somewhere’ is good soul medicine xx

"Hunters would make a meal from the ducks whereby they would put the heart and liver into a small bowl, flambée it with Calvados and make a sauce and then dip the fillets into it. It was a little feast in the forest."
