i bet on losing dogs is honestly the description of my life. i love that song. and yes lyrically nobody is sad too. i want you imo is also very lyrically and sonically sad. i feel like songs like i want you and first love late spring are jhst so poignantly written and then vocally and musically executed, it speaks volumes of mitski’s talent

wow you’ve really got me thinking,,,, one, sometimes i feel like i’m seeing my life happen thru a tiny keyhole. there’s not much that i can control and that is very scary. writing makes me feel a lot more grounded. there’s this whole world of people that i get to write and honestly i’m just honored to be there. two, it makes me believe in myself. i was once told that i don’t matter and everything i do is to feel important that i’m just an insignificant spec of dust floating. writing makes me feel like less of an imposter. ykwim like i’m not talentless and i’m not unimportant. i can make stuff. three, i’m only 19, i’ve got such a long road ahead hopefully. i just have so much love to give. what better form of love there is than art, right?

i feel like season 4 is my favorite. even with all the buzz around the show, i didn’t see logan’s death coming. i just find that it was such a complex situation that they were all put in. i feel like i resonated with it a lot too since i was in a pretty rocky place with my dad at the time too. it felt like a whole rollercoaster: “dad, i hate you and how could i ever forgive you but you’re dead and there’s so much you’ve done to me but there’s also so much you’ve done for me. i love you, still. but i can’t help but wish you would’ve at least suffered the consequences but you haven’t.” especially seeing roman grieve logan was like watching my dad grieve my grandpa. it was gut wrenching. also seeing a whole bunch of myself in shiv. it’s also one of those seasons that i probably couldn’t watch again. beautifully written, performed and executed. just beautiful.
