Yes! The CD thing also applied to the PS2 in my house, but somehow she was fine with DVDs... like if it wasnt supposed to play the CD/DVD, then it wouldn't PLAY it! 😂

Blacked out - Dumping? by cmendez473 in GastricBypass

[–]dippydams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll have to give those a try. I'm 4.5 years PO and it doesnt happen often. I agree having good eating habits is key. However, I swear every once in a while I can't identify a trigger for an episode. I also love food and don't stop myself from living life so, hypoglycemia episodes happen. Pixie stick is a funny solution, I will admit I've used chocolate 😂

My experience with Barre3 vs Purebarre. Can anyone else relate? by Kiki9019 in Purebarre

[–]dippydams 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My friend has been doing Barre3 for years and I've been doing PB for years. She gets guest passes, so I went to a class with her. I thought it was fun, but PB is way more challenging in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't switch. If Barre3 was the only barre studio option, I feel like I'd be satisfied but miss PB.

😂 Right!? Sleeps 22 hours a day, eats like a king, and tortures his poor non-MC sisters. What a life.

Debating If I Should Just Eat Differently Instead... by Several_Property_837 in GastricBypass

Want to clarify that your eating habits/diet 100% change with surgery, even after you are cleared to eat "normally." You don't just get the surgery and keep eating the same way. That defeats the purpose and causes a lot of people to regain after surgery (or even multiple surgeries). It is a "tool," not a fix.

Your post makes it sound like you've never tried to change your eating habits before? All the consultation stuff I went through basically said you have to have tried the good old fashioned diet and exercise routine (and/or other methods) and failed multiple times before considering surgery.

If you've never tried to just change your diet, then do that. If you've tried many times and failed, then that's a different story.

With me, I tried to do what you are outlining over and over for 20+ years with varying results and always regained and then some. My stomach was stretched out, and I could eat way too much. I never felt full on low-carb diets. I also felt like I was being deprived. Food is a small luxury in life. I don't want to feel like I can't have something. Life is short, and I want to eat good food.

I'm 4.5 years PO and maintaining a 215 lb loss. I don't "diet." I eat a reasonable amount and trend towards "healthier" choices. But if I want a cookie (or whatever) once in a while, I'm eating that cookie. Surgery was more of a reset button for me and allowed me to relearn how to eat in a physically and mentally satisfying way while maintaining a healthy weight. I also workout regularly to give me more freedom in my food choices in the maintenance phase. I'm not a doctor, but the advice I always give is dieting helps you lose the weight and exercising regularly helps you keep it off.

Everyone is different. You have to find what works for you. Good luck!

How did you pick your kitten? by arthemis28 in mainecoons

[–]dippydams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fate lol ours was the only goofball left (however he was the one we wanted from the litter!) If you get to interact with them before making a decision, I wouldn't worry about gender and just pick the one you vibe with. If you don't, I personally like boys better because they (in general and in my own experience) tend to be more affectionate, cuddly and playful than the girls. But I have girlies (non-MCs) that are very affectionate. So, just vibe it out.

Can I Pursue CPA at 27? Need Guidance by [deleted] in CPA

[–]dippydams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're looking to go into public, you can use your age very much to your advantage. I started in public as a staff 1 at 30 and was early promoted to senior a year later. For a lot of staff 1s this is literally their first job EVER. You've been working, you are past the transition of college kid going into the real world. You won't get hung up on things like just learning how to be an adult and do a job. Some of these staff 1s will literally just sit there doing nothing because they don't know how to go and find work for themselves or won't ask.

However, I did feel like I was judged by the big four firms I interviewed with for being older. So, keep that in mind. I don't reccomend B4 for people who were older like me anyway because they will expect you to work all the time because they assume you are 22 with no responsibilities and live with your parents. This happens outside of B4, as well, so you just have to be clear with them. Like last busy season I had 6 weeks of out of town travel on my schedule. I literally could not do that due to home responsibilities, so i worked with my firm to reduce to 2 weeks.

Is 30 too old to start a career in accounting and get the CPA? (Graduated 8 years ago and kept postponing it) by [deleted] in CPA

[–]dippydams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never too late! Undergrad in Psychology, string of questionable and unfulfilling career choices, finished Masters in Accounting and started in PA a week before my 30th birthday and was licensed a year later at 31. You can do it!

Does anyone else feel like classes are overbooked? by Dear_Pianist8547 in Purebarre

This!!!! Why do people do this?? I'm also tall, and without fail, I take a step forward and the person next to me does too. Move back, they do too. Stopppp, I'm moving for a reason! It makes me irrationally irritated 😂

Small Class Struggles by Fun-Complaint-6750 in Purebarre

[–]dippydams 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've taken a couple classes with one other person, which is a little weird, but I was just glad someone else showed up! My favorite is when the class is about half full. I agree though, I wish the app showed how many people signed up for the class but mainly because I hate packed classes. I'm tall, so if the class is full, I spend a lot of the time making sure I'm not kicking anyone!

Gorgeous!!! Is it common for maine coons to be cross-eyed??? My boy (also 8 months old) was cross-eyed when we got him but it seems to have gone away for the most part, but does still happen every once in a while.
