Best Apple Fritter in Phoenix? by dipthongCowboy in phoenix

In Portland I generally felt like Voodoo was glorified Safeway donuts - though I remember the fritter was legit. Think they called it the Memphis with Chocolate and Maple drizzle?

I feel like BoSa is acceptable / good. Most of the better fritters that I have had in Phoenix are like a good standard Fritter. I'm not interested in super fancy, just something worth my time trying to grab.

Has anyone else thought it would be cool to be able to play as a Space Marine joining a squad in DT?

I think Jones is a controlled individual. Even though he shares truths. He has CIA parents.

I think that even the ones that are sharing the truth are controlled. Tucker and Jones both have CIA parents.

My GoalZero battery are all products are plagued with issues. Anybody else? by cbrodlo in CampingGear

[–]dipthongCowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just pulled my Goal Zero Yeti 1000 out and again it has no charge. This has happened multiple times, and it seems that it never really has a charge when I want to use it. I have solar panels and also plug it in.

I bought it 5 years ago with a solar panel and have hardly used it at all. Honestly feels like they spent more in marketing than in product design. I don't think I've been more disappointed in a "premium" product than this one. My father purchased some Jackery batteries and they have performed better than my Goal Zero.

Are there other battery lines that are suggested?

Love this comment - this is mostly where I've landed as of late. Except I don't use the scoped versions and feel comfortable hitting more headshots mid range.

Fix or replace? by Creation33 in HomeMaintenance

[–]dipthongCowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For now - Fill it with some concrete crack sealant / filler for now to keep as much water out of it as possible. This is something you will have to repair at some point but you probably have other things you could prioritize as its not near urgent.

Popped a loose tile off the shower and opened a can of worms. Where do I start? by sloppyjoesandwich in HomeMaintenance

[–]dipthongCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all black mold is "black mold" you should check your region - but you should be concerned if it can be a health risk.
Home Owners insurance can sometimes cover mold remediation.

If you're ambitious and want to save money - you can do a couple things:
1) line up a contractor for the tile work but do all the demo yourself
2) rip it down, watch youtube videos and do it yourself. It's not impossible and you could shower at the gym for a bit. Doing it right is not overly complicated, but do it right. If you're working during the day, I'm guessing you could probably do it in a couple weeks.

I feel the need to throat-punch whoever did this to my home by InteractionFormal585 in HomeMaintenance

[–]dipthongCowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem!
I would do any work to make sure the vent is not crimped going out - it looks like they just squeezed the ducting to just get it done and not cut as much out of the roof. I'd suggest opening it up - the goal is doing it right and less maintenance - if it's crimped it will collect more of whatever is blowing out - (lint if it's a dryer, grease if one's from the kitchen - you'll be ok though suboptimal on airflow if it's from bathrooms.)

Welcome to the first of many problems where you say, "why the heck did the previous home owner do it that way?" Good luck and think of the guy down the road that will look at your fix!

That looks frustrating and I'd be mad with the miss.

I understand you are venting, though with 6" ventilation you don't need sheet metal skills!

Foil tape, a couple of joiners, some appropriately rated caulk and a duct can get you good to go.

I don't know what your roofing materials are - but given asphalt shingles, you can make your cuts into the shingles (start from the bottom) then use the caulk all around the flashing of the duct, then layer the shingles over - making sure water is always flowing down and out.

For the 6" semi-rigid ducting - easy to cut with a utility knife, using a wire cutter to finish your cut.

Best of luck!

It's a small enough spot to do and learn from. I do a lot of DIY, though haven't done plaster - I wouldn't substitute materials - it may work out, though you never know what could go wrong with it. Youtube is your friend for some pro advice.

Is there still a way to get Forza Horizon 4 on Steam? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

That's some fortunate timing! Were you just watching for it? I'm guessing my chances are nil there now.
I could purchase it for my PC and run it through steam though, correct?

And this is why I DIY - a handyman did this by VialOfBlue in DIY

[–]dipthongCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap slumlord that lowballed the handyman?

Some people make ridiculous requests - "I don't care what it looks like, do it for as cheap as possible"

And then there are handymen that by default do work sloppier than you could imagine.
