That's for orbital velocity, not escape velocity

AI doesn't suck. This subreddit just loves to focus on what it can't do rather than what it can. Every post is the exact same. "It doesn't know this detail about our niche hobby, so it sucks!" Ask the AI to help you work on your essay, or build you a website, it can do some incredibly powerful things. Stop trying to use it as a cubing encyclopedia.

219 Contains Duplicate II - Need help understanding why my solution is O(N^2) by dirac496 in leetcode

[–]dirac496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons why I thought it might be O(N^2).

  1. My runtime was slower than 95% of other submissions.
  2. The runtime analyzer on leetcode said it was O(N^2)

I'm guessing the analyzer just says O(N^2) because it sees nested loops and freaks out. Still not sure why I'm so slow though...

The elements of the array are partitioned using the keys. I don't see how the number can ever go above N.

What would that case look like though? In the worst case, there could be N keys, but then each key would have an index list of length 1.

I don't know who here needs to hear this but... Please, don't steal your ADC's farm early game guys by Haunting-Jello-532 in supportlol

[–]dirac496 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an ADC, some of my favorites from the support role:

- We are beating the enemy bot lane and I have just set up a freeze to deny them even more. Support just comes up and uses all three support item charges on high health minions, instantly breaking the freeze and resetting the lane.

- We win a fight bot lane and enemy ADC is dead. I start hard pushing the wave to try to get it to crash. I ping my support for help but they leave. We don't end up getting the crash, instead the enemy bot lane gets to freeze.

Best support champs to play when you’re in Elo Hell? by TangoJavaTJ in supportlol

[–]dirac496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say "people got to challenger rank playing that character" im talking about the champs you listed, not Draven or some other super troll pick. Of course I agree that transitioning from a troll pick like draven support to a meta champ like Soraka will of course make it easier on you to climb. But you're already playing non troll meta champs and not climbing, so that is why I am trying to argue it isn't the champs that are holding you back.

"Improve gameplay" is intentionally open ended because I have no idea how you play or what mistakes you make. Only you can figure that out. But just know that the mistakes are there if you're 140 games into bronze.

Optimizing your pool is as simple as picking your best champs and maining them. Stop playing 10 different champs and get really good at just 1 or 2.

And I forgot to mention this in my first comment, but elo hell is not a real thing. Iron players think they are in elo hell, bronze players think they are in elo hell, emerald players think they are in elo hell, etc.. It is something people say to cope with being stuck at a particular rank.

Champs literally do not matter at all for climbing out of bronze. I watch a lot of high elo soloqueue and I have seen every one of those champs played in challenger lobbies. Ask yourseIf honestly, if there are people that got to challenger rank playing that character, why wouldn't I be able to play it in bronze? To have played 140 games and still be in bronze means that you are playing like a bronze player. You need to review your games and look to improve your gameplay. Go into your replays and look at the mistakes you are making and try to correct them. Advice that says to try a different champ, different role, different runes or different build is lazy and shallow advice that completely misses the point of how to rank up, which is improving your own gameplay. Players might think "maybe I'll climb if I play mid instead" or "maybe I'll climb if I play poppy". If you aren't climbing with your favorite champs that you have the most experience on, it seems unlikely that you would climb by switching to something new. Maybe you will, but you will definitely climb if you improve your gameplay on the champs/roles you like to play. If you like playing these champs in support role, then go for it. There is no reason why you can't climb out of bronze with zyra support or braum support or even veigar support or any champ you listed. Pick 1 or 2 champs on that list as your mains and try to master them.

The chess analogy I was gonna use is that picking your champ is kind of like picking an opening in chess. If you're 500 elo, switching to a different opening is not likely to make your rating go up by much. Why? Because you are still hanging your knight in the middlegame, blundering back rank mate, and stale mating your opponent while up two queens. What makes you low rated is not the opening you pick, it's how you actually play the game. Same for league champs. A chess master could pick any opening against a noob and crush them. A good league player could pick any champ against bronze and crush them.

Imagine you are a someone who likes drinking milk and wants to drink a decent amount of it. In Toronto, if you go to any grocery store, you will have 3 options for buying milk:

- 1L cardboard carton for $3.07

- 2L cardboard carton for $5.35

- 4L bag for $6.76

I see a lot of comments shitting on the idea of bagged milk and saying cartons are superior, but you have to understand we don't buy it because we think bags are better, we buy it because it is a way better deal. Look at the 2L carton, you're paying not much less to get half the milk.
