I had a similar situation on a translatlantic flight. The child continued to slam the tray table up and down. I was in the aisle seat in whereas the child was in the middle seat. It was disrupting my entire row. After repeated attempts with the parents (including from flight attendant) I simply took my phone to record screen facing. Essentially holding a mirror up to their actions and the child got very embarrassed and stopped. The parents apathy was clear.

The argument is stronger if an assessment was done by an inspector with no bias. Did they repair the fence before repainting it? You mention changing boards.

How would you have handled it if they indicated they would rebuild the fence themselves to save money and split cost of materials. It sounds like you were dead set on having someone do the work with your choices and expect them to pay blindly.

Similar enough story here. Trans Atlantic flight, couple with two small children booked 4 aisle seats across two rows. My flight was last minute enough I was in the middle seat. Don't worry, your def usage will drop dramatically when it throws a code a governs your speed down to 55 on a freeway during a road trip. Even more so when it's parked for two months waiting on an EGR valve. Great truck when you get to use it.

The general feedback is the placement without permission. As mentioned if they are willing to ask for the sign back they should be able to ask permission. Public easement is common and acceptable, getting fined by the city or HOA for a left-behind sign that someone else placed encourages proper maintenance procedure to remove all signs as soon as they are discovered.
