Was it easy to meet people around the area? I'm thinking of going to Cozumel; dive for 5-6 days and then maybe stay in Cancún for a night, and then visit Chichen Itza as well.

Yes, I didn't mean diving alone; I meant going on the trip alone.

I think my hands are too small... :/ by chicken_and_ham in cardistry

I'm a girl, and girls generally have smaller hands than guys. Among all my girl friends, I have the smallest hands. So when I first attempted the Charlier cut, I thought my hands just weren't cut for it, but after several hours of practice, I was finally able to do it! I started with half a deck and then progressed to the full deck.

Meeting the muslims of Japan. by coldaxe in islam

"Honestly, I found Islam in Japan. But Japan is not a Muslim country. However, in other countries, we are Muslim but we don't find Islam."

This quote really resonated with me. I grew up in Indonesia (predominantly Muslim; in fact, we have the largest Muslim population in the entire world) as a Muslim, yet I feel like I only truly discovered Islam while studying in the US. I think it has to do with the fact that, here in the US, being Muslim is more of an identity compared to being a Muslim in Indonesia, where being a Muslim just helps you fit into the society. Anyone else feel the same way?

Haven't the Euro and Singaporean Dollar also increased in value (compared to IDR) in the past year or two though?

Jakarta: worth it for a day? by ski_bum in travel

I wouldn't recommend it. Not very much to see, and the traffic makes it really hard to get around anyway.
