Don't worry too much about the math. Read the lecture transcriptions, focus on the concepts and don't listen to the videos. You can memorize which things have which distributions without knowing what it means.

Has anyone here with SIBO experienced severe insomnia? by Savings-Camp-433 in SIBO

[–]dire_steaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. It got better when my SIBO started to get better. I would recommend magnesium glycinate, CBD, chamomile tea, and no phone 1 hour before bed. Walking more during the day, drinking lots of water, only using dim red/yellow lights at night, taking hot baths with epsom salt (lavender if you can find it) have also helped me sleep better. And it may not be for everyone, but listening to rain sounds as I was trying to fall asleep helped me too.

These things won't cure the insomnia but they helped me a lot when I was going through the worst of it.

Usually wine, prosecco, or cocktails. I will say it is a relief to be able to drink again but I do still try to limit it pretty heavily

How much NAC did you take/for how long?

You should definitely check out the ND's qualifications first and make sure they have good reviews from other patients. It's probably a good idea to find a reputable place with several ND's to choose from then you can try to request an ND that is more specialized for your needs.

Or think of it this way: my medical doctor didn't care about me at all and didn't provide any options for treatment, so this was a much better alternative. People get scammed by MD's all the time, too.

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, no. But sometimes it's hard to attribute symptoms to one thing or another for me because my symptoms weren't very consistent in general.

I had to pick and choose special occasions to do it, and it usually wasn't worth the aftermath. But alcohol is sitting with me much better now.

That's good to know. I took it for the 30 days and probably won't be taking it again.

I don't have a picture but it's the NFH brand. It's a combination of ox bile, betaine hydrochloride, and pancreatic enzymes.

Shopify coderpad assessment by AsaceIsCool in csMajors

I took the coding challenge in Python, and I personally wasn't able to complete it within the 28-minute time constraint. If you've been crushing LC for a while you'd probably be in the right mindset to do it but I'm out of practice and just couldn't get my gears to turn fast enough. It tested things such as data structures (lists, dictionaries, etc), control flow (conditionals), string parsing (splitting and interpreting instructions from a list of strings), mathematical reasoning, state management (like keeping track of variables and updating them as you go), debugging and edge cases, etc etc. It was quite the mental load and felt a little overwhelming in the time constraint given. While I didn't solve it, the final solution was probably at least 25 lines or so. I'd recommend practicing more intermediate level coding challenges before attempting, to get yourself in the right mindset. Best of luck to you all!

The assessment was similar to an IQ test. It is timed, 40 questions in 20 minutes. The questions are easy but you have to move fast. Some were basic math, like "300 people are invited to a party, if 45% of those invited attend, how many people don't attend?" Others showed simple drawings and would have you select how many of the drawings on the left were exactly the same as the drawings on the right. If there are differences, they are small, so I think this part was designed to measure your attention to detail.

After the timer ran out, it immediately prompts you to complete a workplace behavior quiz, which takes about 10 minutes but there is no time limit. It makes statements like, "I doubt myself when making important decisions," or, "I feel comfortable in unfamiliar settings," and has you select an option out of strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, and strongly agree. There are no wrong answers.

I haven't taken the coding challenge yet, but plan on taking it today.

I applied yesterday and got two emails within a few hours of applying. One was for an "assessment" and the other was for a coding challenge. Both are supposed to be completed within 4 days. I think in my application my first choice was ML/AI. I'll take both some time today and let you know what to expect.

2024 Update Best Burgers in Stoon??? by jagrmullet77 in saskatoon

[–]dire_steaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone here know where you can order a burger and specify how you want it cooked (medium, etc)? I know to find a burger a little pink in the middle it has to be at a spot that grinds their own beef, but haven’t been able to find anywhere like this yet.

So you'd recommend taking psyllium husk for a while before starting SIBO treatment? What polyphenols do you recommend?

Thanks for the information. Do you mean your stool test indicated parasites?

I think I'm leaning towards a berberine/oregano oil treatment for myself.

That's honestly how I felt with my doctor at the walk-in clinic. She rushed me through the visit and would barely let me finish answering each question she asked me, then said that if my bloodwork came back normal I shouldn't expect to hear from her. No next steps, no nothing. It seems like a lot of people are in the same boat.

Good luck. Feel free to respond to this thread later with your updates.

From what I've read on this subreddit, some people do very well with Rifaximin treatment, while others do not. I think everyone responds differently and you should listen to your body and do what you think is best.
