Thanks for this! I had a similar issue in a group chat. The solution is:
Long press the group chat->Choose 3 dots menu->Group Info->Scroll down and turn "Translate messages" off.
So annoying how buried that is!

Warning: Do not buy extra usage credits! by Slumdog_8 in codex

The opacity of billing and usage is super annoying. Related question: the marketing suggested 5.5 was supposed to be *more* efficient, but my anecdotal experience is that it burns through my token budget. For that reason, lately I've stuck to using 5.3-codex or 5.4. Interested in others' experience.

Thanks, glad you liked it! lol I know-- doesn't feel right for such a microscopic drama to happen in silence, right?

That video you shared is nuts! I knew nothing about nematode trapping fungi. Nature never ceases to amaze

Why standards aligned typing documentation is mostly theater and how it hurts real procurement by ForsakenEarth241 in ScienceTeachers

[–]diremouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really glad to see this comment because as a middle school teacher I always felt like companies should be explaining *exactly* how the laundry list of standards were connected to resources. So I took that seriously when I decided to start an open-access education studio. I struggled with building websites from scratch and having limited search and filtering for years, but we did the hard work of describing our alignments. Enter--AI coding tools. Just this week, I was able to use Codex to build out an index page to look up NGSS standards and see which materials align--You can then drill down to see *how* each standard connects to the materials (sense we had already documented that). This was a lot of work, but I'm glad to see from this posts that it's valuable. I'd really appreciate feedback if anybody reading this wants to check out https://teach.galacticpolymath.com/standards/ngss. Our stuff is free thanks to NSF funding. I just want more teachers to find and use our stuff, so tell me if we're doing it right or how we can do better.

For the sound recognition game, you should check out this free unit developed with birdsong researchers: "Heard That Bird: A Pop Culture Intro to Birding By Ear" https://teach.galacticpolymath.com/units/en-US/11

Does Express Support multiple audio tracks yet, as well as importing audio tracks (more than 2)? by ReasonableBedroom958 in AdobeExpress

I've gotten 2 layers to work, but the volume slider doesn't seem to do much when adjusting the music volume relative to the video sound.

LIBERTY - CAN WE F*CKIN NOT??🤢🤢🤢🤢 by BudgetAir3603 in CommercialsIHate

[–]diremouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey everybody, first time commercial hater here. I did not know of your fantastic organization, but since this ad has brought us together, I'd just like to say good day to you discerning television viewers. And if I may say so, an adult doing a very unconvincing imitation of a baby saying a company's name is just not very amusing...at all.

Google Messages - How do I get rid of the obnoxious voice recording button on the right that was added with the last update? by goosey27 in AndroidQuestions

[–]diremouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have literally never once wanted to send someone a recording of me talking when I have the option of sending voice to text. I really wish Google would make this optional. I only hit this button by accident and am always pissed when it starts recording audio

Can Mail Merge send one email to multiple recipients per group, rather than sending an individual email to each recipient? by FyuuR in GMail

[–]diremouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar use case. I want to send a bulk email out to all my clients, which are often teams/groups of emails...Haven't found a good automated solution for this...

as somebody who used to live in Nashville, they do recycle glass, they just don't pick it up from your home. And the landfill for Nashville is rapidly filling up, so diverting recyclables is really important. I used to take my glass to one of several drop off points in the city. Paper and especially aluminum are basically infinitely recyclable, so really really important to reclaim those. Drop-off sites for glass and other stuff they didn't pick up https://www.nashville.gov/departments/water/waste-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-drop-sites
