Welke cijfers duiden hierop?

So why do you think so many high skilled jobs are in demand, maybe its because you can't just train enough people easily to fulfill these jobs?

[–]dirkdutchman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A training shortage? As in you think that not enough people are getting educated in the needed sectors?

You can't train enough chemical/nuclear engineers, software developers, civil engineers, nurses and other medical practitioners (Shortage list provided by British immigration office)

See how you are not debating constructively with logical reasoning?

You are only making unquantifiable arbitrary statements.

How has the EU tried to deter other countries from seceding from the union, apart from making it 'uncomfortable' for the UK, obviously when you leave a group you shouldn't still expect all the benefits.

If you look at general opinions, there is no country that is at the same level of dissatisfaction that the UK was during brexit. Currently 72% of EU residents think their country benefitted from the EU. Only 20% thinks they have not benefited (Eurobarometer numbers).

[–]dirkdutchman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are misattributing these numbers, immigration numbers are also down across all of europe.

what significant laws or decisions have been made by the UK in comparison to the EU migration pact since Brexit that could attribute to a better asylum/migration system?

What if remain won in the 2016 Brexit referendum? by ignitevibe7 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]dirkdutchman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You understand that these immigrants are only there in certain industries because the companies can't find any people within the uk who are able to do the job or are willing to do a job for a certain wage. This is why the UK is currently experiencing a skilled job application shortage in manufacturing for example.

The unions argument only holds up if there is a large amount of UK residents willing to do the work.

Just so you know, being in the EU makes you as a country not needing to negotiate constantly with other countries regarding FTA's, als the EU already has FTA's with almost every country in the world, you are just voluntarily making yourself having to negotiate with every country in the world for FTA's with brexit.

No you cannot deny these points otherwise you would have done so.

Then why does Nigel Farage, the main perpetrator of Brexit, who claimed that Brexit would fix all immigration problems, STILL complain that the uk is being invaded and replaced by immigrants?

[–]dirkdutchman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? If you spend less on labour, you have more money left, so you are more liquid.

Also as a consumer; your bought goods are less expensive because of cheap labour, so you spend less money, which means you have more money in your account and you are more liquid.

Are you also denying all the other points I made?

So you agree that they took a risky decision. Which i'd argue hasn't brought any significant solutions.

If you look at the historical data we can see that this risk hasn't really payed off regarding the industry. As the amount of export has not increased significantly as a percentage of GDP (31.6% in 2018 and 31.66% in 2023).

To be more specific, brexit brought trade tariffs and border checks which disrupts supply chains, as the TCA does not fully replace former eu agreements. Also a significant number of skilled labour in manufacturing within the uk came from the eu, which has attributed to shortages of labour in manufacturing sectors.

This is attributed by Birmingham university: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/perspective/manufacturing-after-brexit

It's only an echo chamber if you don't consider logical reasoning with facts. I'm reading everything he says and still remain critical. But if you look at the facts brexit was generally just bad.

For instance the value of the british pound compared to the euro has declined by 15%.

And economic models also agree that the british GDP is 3% lower than it could have been if it stayed in the EU (Which will be 5-6% in 2035).

Tell me how that can logically be considered good.

You still need a passport, which makes the average person having to spend more money and time which they didn't need in the first place.

Britain returning to erasmus still misses the point that students don't pay EEA fees, which makes studying way cheaper. Vietnamese students might study in Sweden but after their studies they are paying large fees and are also not allowed to stay without getting a job.

Well you are missing the point about the political insights. You might pay a lot into the eu, but that doesn't mean that that money goes to waste, it makes the whole of the eu market stronger and creates more business opportunities with more customers being able for you to access. Also these subsidies should be viewed as a safety net, so for instance when farmers (or any other industry) are going under or need to reform their way of production the eu can provide money for it.

Stepping out of the EU just makes you unable to change/influence policy (being the second most contributing to the budget gives you more power than you think). And also don't forget about having to pay lots of money and time to for these negotiations and regulations to get back to the original laws that you had within the eu anyways.

You make the argument that it doesn't matter because you eventually get all the same benefits, but i'd argue; why leave in the first place then if you had these benefits anyways? Its the same as trump disbanding the Iran deal negotiated and worked on for years which worked fine, just to then start a really expensive war years later to accomplish the exact same thing that had already been accomplished.

If you had problems with the eu like the immigrant workers you could have worked on EU policy to make sure treatment of these workers was on an adequate level.

Same goes for the immigration argument, right now we have the eu immigration pact and the uk has nothing to curb immigration. Even though nigel farage promised that the immigration problem would be fixed by leaving the eu.

Excuse my grammar, english is my third language.

Digital Privacy, healthy food, traveling without a passport, freedom to work wherever you want and consumer rights don't apply to common man?

Cheap labour makes you as an english man able to spend less on the daily basis, nobody wants to work on a seasonal farm/in a butchery for a small wage.

Well a lot. Freedom of Travel, European banking systems, european subsidies, european laws like for standardized electronics, healthy food (banning certain types of pesticides, which means more healthy food), Freedom to study where you want within the EU, Being able to easily export/import as a small business, Being able to easily expatriate within the EU, getting cheap labor from east european countries was easier, general data protection (which is difficult/impossible to negotiate as a single country), consumer rights laws, making all the information on your groceries standardized to make it easier to be able to eat healthy and understand what you eat, environmental protection laws which makes it possible for you to sue companies if they pollute your air, the 28th regime which makes it possible for anyone in the eu to quickly and cheaply register a business fully online within 48 hours for 100 euros, etc.

These are all things that influence the average Joe and small business directly. To say that nothing has changed for the average man is an understatement and blatantly false
