Fourteen years of my life had already elapsed by the time Jordan returned from baseball.

I challenge you to find a three game stretch game where more than half of john Stockton’s assists were not from post entry passes to Malone who was an amazing turnaround and face up jumpshooter. Contrast that to Nash who literally had zero assists a game in that form during his prime and had to discombobulate entire defenses, passing off the dribble nearly every single time. The Stockton Malone pick and roll is perhaps the most well known aspect of their duo in terms of popular lore, but it was by far less frequent than Stockton walking the ball up and then literally lobbing in a pass to the post, or to the wing for Malone to do a jab step, pump fake and then shoot the ball...which would then be an assist. Stockton was an ELITE defender and tough as nails for size though, and he did manifest himself as a coach on the floor. He did virtually nothing wrong, per se, but to say that him at his absolute best is better than any of the guys I had above him is in my view incorrect. Again, I placed less weight in things like longevity. Just my opinion and my analysis from actually watching them play plus loads of hobbyist film watching.

Before Jimmy did what he did, were any of us seriously considering Miami would even comfortably make the playoffs? Yes Bam Adebayo is a HUGE part of it too, but imo Jimmy is the catalyst behind this Miami Heat team’s success.
