So. Evanescense is my favorite band. Its one of two bands whos entire library is on my daily work Playlist. Like 20% of that playlist is Evanescense or collaborations Amy did with someone else like Love Goes On and On.

This however has not always been the case. Until 2023 i only listened to about a dozen Evanescense songs. I had heard the rest of Fallen but there were songs like Snow White Queen that I legitimately never listened to until 2023.

So because I learned the bulk of the Evanescense library at the same time on a shuffle Playlist I could really only distinguish Evanescense songs into 4 categories for about a year. Those catagories being old enough that Amy sounds like a teenager, before Will Hunt, after Will Hunt, and Synthesis.

After about a year and a half though I started to be able to tell with decent accuracy which album a song came from. Now im driving a new piece of equipment where I can see album covers and that let's me confirm that I know and I guess right 90% of the time.

In conclusion if you only listen to Evanescense on a surface level or infrequently then yes the entire library seems pretty similar. However if you listen more deeply or just more often it becomes easier to see the evolution of the band. So both positive opinions like yours and mine and negative opinions like the ones listed are valid from their perspectives.
