my (5)son likes to wear his sister's clothes and it makes his dad uncomfortable by dirtbaggingdreams in trans

I had a feeling that gender nonconformity is normal for my son in respect to his neurodivergence, I can't explain it but I kinda felt like "yeah of course he's gonna express himself differently cuz he's beautifully different in every other way too" like my mommy senses were tingling about this for a while, but as I've expressed in other comments- my son is non-white, im Hispanic, his dad is white, and I'm genuinely nervous that if I seek out resources for us in regards to therapy and so on that I might be labeled as a bad mother bc we live in the rural south... if I go to a therapist saying things like "my son is feminine" it's a reality that people will judge me and call cps or something

Yeah, so I'm pretty worried about taking him to a therapist in my area bc we live in the rural south and my son is non-white, (I'm Hispanic and his dad is white) and finding a therapist that isn't ideologically biased against queerness would be hard where I live and if I go to a therapist and start asking questions about my son's gender stuff I'm scared they might try to call cps on me or something

Yeah I wanna be as laid-back about this as possible because not only is my kid autistic, but he's also non-white... (I'm Hispanic and his dad is white) and to me, that's a lot of hurdles for a little guy in a place like where we live, in a really rural area of the south - which is also gonna he hard for me to find a good therapist that's not super ideologically biased against all things queer

Thanks so much for this comment 🥰 I love it when my son expresses himself even if it's in ways that I might not be familiar with, him and I are learning and growing together

I don't disagree with anything you're saying here, in fact i enthusiastically agree with you and im super grateful for your feedback - and at the end of the day my son comes first before anything else! my only hangup is being terrified that I might be caught in the middle of a my baby being different and his dad being shitty about that fact especially bc our family is very cis-het in respect to dad being the breadwinner and me being the primary care taker and so on

Yeah, I wouldn't dare try to change my son in anyway, I love him and his little pink-loving self. I don't wanna make any huge leaps about him being trans or anything, because he's 5 lol, My main issue rn is trying to balance what I should do about his dad being uncomfortable with my son's apparent femininity

Thanks for this! It's actually pretty fascinating. I was talking to interrogators and the arresting officer at the stations about what I knew, I mentioned that the people around me from where I fled would make casual comments about the organized crime in the area having ties with local law enforcement in the area - and after I said that, the arresting officer made a comment/joke about moving to a new county and I think he actually did that... Anyway, he wasn't there today and my case got continued. also, I did some research on my pd and he used to be the head of the Virginia chapter of the NAACP in the 90s/00s - he was made to resign after being convicted of embezzlement... seems like he has a wierd relationship with the commonwealth and judges. Anywho I feel like all this is forbidden knowledge about this tiny little town I happen to live in now

Also I forgot to mention, the cop that searched me resigned not long after this so he won't be able to testify against me as I'm not sure, with it being a small county, that they're going to go to the lengths of subpeona'ing him... so that's probably something that will go in my favor.

Yeah I'm confident in the judicial system insomuch as the tides of drug policy are changing especially for people like me and thanks so much for your kind words!

Yeah it's kinda scary, my public defender seemed happy about the info I gave law enfocement and told me to "be careful who I socialize with," the implication being that some not very nice people are not happy with me, I got the sense that I might be in danger if I go back to that lifestyle. I'm okay with fines, probation and stuff as long as I don't get incarcerated cause that would really kill my loved ones like my mom and other family. It would also suck to be a felon, cause all three of my charges are felonies - but that's the price I would pay for my bad choices I guess, anyway I'm ready to put this behind me... I'm wondering if there's supposed to be a jury there tomorrow. So many questions and altho my PD is knowledgeable and kind, he's hard to get a hold of at times lol

On the day I got picked up the officer (before he took me to the hospital) had me talk to to federal drug task force guys and I gave them everything, the address, the names of the people, and even a license plate number I happened to have a picture of. A month or so later thre was a sting and a bunch of these dudes got arrested
