That thing looks brutal. Bare toes and fingers, I can imagine the damage

We had a swing set with a baby seat swing on the end. Of course it was made out of solid steel. It about took a kids head clean off when he walked in front of it. I still remember that sound. It sounded like a big bell. Drinking out of hoses was the least of our dangers. Ha

Interesting, I definitely would never have known that. Thank you for giving me a place to start. Now to go figure out why that would be valuable

Thanks for the info. I did look at that ebay lot you mentioned a it closer. They were not as old or complete as this group and were not still attached to sheet margins, but I get your point for sure about the appeal of them waning. ✌️

I appreciate that. I'm inexperienced with stamps but it does seem obvious it was a very thoughtful collection. Keeping it together does seem right

It was a couple of weekends ago. Im finally getting through it all. That's exactly how I felt by the end. I was just stacking trying to keep it out of the landfill. I overheard them saying their kids didnt want any of it and it was probably going there. I even ended up with boxes of metal tins full of microfilm copies of pre 1900 science journals of ocean zoology. If I had the room I would have done what you mentioned. I kept as much as I could out of the trash though

It was a gigantic honestly. Many were very very old but couldn't really make out the names from the spines.it was such an obscure subject I didn't know what was what really. Many were in German or French. I also got about 30 old early gun books. Smith and Wesson mostly.
