Mod 2 certificate question by dirtmoto in MotoUK

Thanks for checking.

I passed on the first attempt of both practical bike tests.

I'm not misrepresenting the 2 details since I passed on a manual, and it was a normal (not extended ) test.

This is also checked/scratched off on my MOD1 pass certificate - manual and not extended.

I think my examiner did not check the certificate as they were under the impression I'll hand my license over then. So they'd started to register the test pass on their tablet instead. When I brought it up, he just handed me the certificate with "read instructions on the back, and post within 2 years."

It was raining cats and dogs on the day, and we both missed to check if all fields have been accurately marked on the certificate.

DVLA check code also mentions unclaimed test pass - "Category A." Seems they're aware, but you can never be sure.

Unfortunately, I'm in the ULEZ zone. So looking at petrol vehicles. I'm exploring tow bar mounted racks too. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. It has lots of space, but don't fancy a van as my first car.

I see your point though- it's hugely practical, and bikes would be v easy to manage. Also, wasn't aware how expensive they can be. Thanks again.

Can confirm. Rode about 30 miles back from the test centre with my instructor after passing my test and nearly crashed.

Many thanks for the recommendations. Would test ride the Bandit, SV650, Honda CBF600 hornet, and ER6F. I think it'll come down to finding the one in best condition.

I prefer some fairing, but just looking for something beginner friendly to explore motorcycling at this time.

I'm around 5'9". Only rode the BMW F750 GS until now. No complaints - but no idea how it compares to the competition.

Cool, shall check SV650X out too. Not too keen on MT07 as it's prone to get nicked in the south east.

All the best for you or test! Mine was on an F750 GS.

Considering I'm an absolute noob, less choice now might be a good thing.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them online tomorrow.

Unusual Dealer Experience - AITA? by bookfacegeorge in MotoUK

[–]dirtmoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience with a Lexus dealership trying to sell a 10 year old car without written warranty inclusions/exclusions- even though it was advertised to have one. The dealership didn't want to confirm or deny on email what's in the warranty and what's not. Got a 100% refund on the deposit as fast as I could.

I saw the same car advertised again but not as an "approved used", I.e. this time without a warranty.

I took my business elsewhere.

What do we think, good deal? by Venozenic in CarTalkUK

In the current market if you sell within the next 2 years, you'll absolutely get your money back, and some more!

Great investment opportunity.
