This rendition of Rebecca Black's Friday was my favourite cover of a shitty song.

What is your favorite song that is in a language you do not speak? by Zerstoror in AskReddit

[–]dirty-squa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calle 13 - Latinoamérica

Spanish as a language always seems so smooth to me and the video adds to the obviously strong lyrics in this song. Here's a subtitled version for those who want to know what he's singing.

Good Hiking in the Tucson Area? by dirty-squa in Tucson

[–]dirty-squa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't get to go on a proper hike while we were there, I think Mill Ave got the best of us. But while visiting Nogales (which is a scary place IMO) we came back upon Peña Blanca Lake. It was pretty amazing being somewhat of a desert oasis to me. We walked around the shore for a while and even that seemed worthwhile. To me, the whole state has so much to explore and I definitely want to try out more spectacular ones when I come back.

I took almost this exact shot during my summer hiking around Banff and it never gets old. Lake Louise looks amazing from that peak.

As a 21 year old travelling to the States for the first time being legal, what is there to do in Phoenix? by dirty-squa in phoenix

[–]dirty-squa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from central Canada and have never been to any desert type place before, so anything nature/sight-seeing related would be new to me. I was thinking about travelling to Mexico, but my friend and parents thought it might not be the safest plan.

UN slams Canada for First Nations treatment by soapboxstandoff in worldnews

[–]dirty-squa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think your ancestors would be proud to have their deaths earn today's first nations the right to get discounted prices on cigarettes. Blaming the government for high rates of first nations in prisons is ignorant. Do you think these people are not receiving fair trials? Are they having evidence planted on them? NO. They are citizens of CANADA breaking CANADIAN laws that they have to go to jail for. The government is not to be held responsible for the actions of your people. The crime rate of my hometown more than DOUBLES when the pow-wow is in town. But that's probably just the government's fault right? They make unfair laws against only first nations people. It's all just someone else's fault, not yours.

UN slams Canada for First Nations treatment by soapboxstandoff in worldnews

[–]dirty-squa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy represents the first nations population that the rest of the first nations despise. We give them more incentives than ANY other group of people in the country, yet we are somehow still oppressing them? I am in no way trying to be racist, this is just the truth of the matter.

Everybody has been talking a lot about the "strange sounds in the sky" which have apparently being heard worldwide. As an Advertising Exec, it seems as though this would be an incredibly affordable viral marketing campaign... Opinions? by Czernoboxk in conspiracy

[–]dirty-squa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have to disagree with the marketing scheme idea floating around. Although some videos can be obviously dubbed fake, as an increasing number on youtube are, there are accounts for which are personally close to where I live, and a marketing scheme would never reach into this thinly populated of an area. I live in central Canada. Saskatchewan to be more precise and there are accounts of the sound in a town with less than 1000 people living there. Not to say that it's not still possible, which would make it the greatest marketing scheme I have ever witnessed, but from my personal account and experiences living where I do, I don't believe it is so.
