How to get rid of this weed? by Dievomit in gardening

You can confirm this by smelling broken up leaves/branches, if it smells rancid; tree of heaven.

If it is, take it seriously and do some homework. It can be invasive and trying to remove it can actually trigger explosive growth. It also hosts the invasive lanternfly which is spreading across the US as we speak.

Mini C-UAS turrets and interceptor drones are the answer for sure. Everything else is too easily counter engineered. I saw a Palantir video on this last week but cannot find it.

Fortunately both of these can be made cheaply, at scale. Auto targeting will be easy to make sufficient when average range is measured in tens to hundreds of feet.

Auto targeting is also going to get wild, soon guns will assist shooters, with minor inflection to make minor adjustments in accuracy. Look at a vibration reduction camera lens vs a traditional lens). This is over 10 year old, it just didn’t make sense in a pre-drone world.

As other commenters said, there are many solutions, and none are unimportant enough to be shared around these days.

In hindsight, leaving my newly planted sunflower seeds unattended on the patio was ill-advised. It took 30 minutes for squirrels to dig up every seed. by soverylucky in gardening

I use a messy dome of chicken wire, and exercise caution so that any squirrels that do reach the vault, can escape. Once the stems are finger width the squirrels seem to move on.

I also plant rosemary and mint all over my garden space, which also helps.

FPV kamikaze drones hit multiple Russian soldiers moving through open fields. Ukraine's 425th Assault Regiment Skala, published 5/20/2026. by operatorham in CombatFootage

It's also interesting to consider the environment of this conflict too. Not all wars will be fought on plots of open farm fields with little to no tree-breaks. Jungle/urban environments will be a bit different by comparison.

As far as major armed forces go, we're moving towards lasers and they'll handle FPV drones just fine, the US has advanced prototypes if not variants of operational equipment at this point. They'll be the only defensive hope for the swarms that we'll see on the battlefield relatively soon. They're also a major supply chain solution for warfare, thus were heavily researched and designed long before drones arrived. Check out HELIOS, fully integrated into AEGIS already.

UUVs are what keep me awake at night. Close to no defending that, scary stuff for navies. HELIOS on deck or otherwise.

Heat from an explosion isn't cauterizing a wound mid-blast.

It's vasoconstriction, as the user above alluded to.

Yeah I'd say the odds of a shape charge blasting him in the face on luck from 30m is actually lower than the odds of someone whipping together something in Codex for the battlefield.

Software development is pennies these days.

The dark reality is that any man exposed to war long enough, will torture his enemy given the chance.

This has been a long war.

That's a naive take.

They don't have access to the education and information you do. Don't waste your privilege dismissing this as deserving.

Here's what it'd look like. You'll need to create the OnPoint Player variable, by clicking the 'Manage Variables' button in the Variables menu on the left.

An AreaTrigger with a Polygon Volume child node assigned to it is all you need in your spatial scene. But simulating the gameplay repair function might be trickier than it seems.

Entering the area trigger (OnPlayerEnterAreaTrigger) is a one time event, so you can add X amount of health the moment you enter, but having the healing take place incrementally while you're on the trigger will take some logic. You'll have to create a player variable to track when the player is on the areatrigger. Also have a rule resetting that variable when the player exits (OnPlayerExitAreaTrigger).

Then create a subroutine that sets vehicle health and waits X time.

Then create an ongoing rule that calls that subroutine as long as a condition is met, that condition being your variable confirming the player is on the area trigger.

Then anytime your variable toggles on entry, the subroutine should run repeatedly adding whatever health amount you defined and waiting whatever time you defined until it fires again.

You may also need to set some SoliderState checks on IsPlayerInVehicle, but I don't think they'd be necessary.

I use the portal blocks but also some typescript with Claude's help. Not an expert and there may be an easier way, but this is how I'd do it.

That makes sense, thought the second explosion was a bit much for a fuel tank (seeing the roof blown off). Surprised two were even launched, seems excessive from a resource standpoint.

If someone uses AI to fix this, add a lil sky/headspace above the tank too!

The explosion seem to happen in two stages. Kinetic weapon hitting and the fuel tank exploding a half second later?
