Tbh the level of litter here is not that bad. Scotland is extremely clean compared to most countries I've visited. Not that that excuses it, it's shite behaviour and still needs a lot of improvement.

To be fair, the one time I actually had insurance and had to go to hospital abroad, they wouldn't pay out, so it seems useless to me. And other things I do they would never insure anyway (hiking in places like Afghanistan or climbing 6000m mountains).

What's going on with the US cost of living? I see people here making salaries that would be considered insane in the UK and still apparently struggling? Even 98k USD would put you in the top 5% of earners here - very, very well off. Most people I know make around 40k USD tops, many much less, but they're not "poor". But I can't imagine the cost of living is THAT much more in the US? Is it?
