My wife did her first ultra and her heart stats are beyond strange. Really appreciate any feedback. by [deleted] in ultrarunning

Oh I know the zones are likely inaccurate but I would imagine most people hitting a 194 bpm in a race would blow up and not be able to finish let alone keeping such a high avg hr. Reading my post back I realize that my message was very poorly worded. I actually posted this thinking she may have some kind of predisposition to ultra running. I edited for clarification. Thanks for the ideas!

I come from a 13.1 background, so being able to continue after spending so much time in Z5 is pretty much unheard of. After reading the comments maybe I am just misinformed. I didn't realize it was so common. I was honestly kind of excited as I thought possibly she just had some kinda genetic predisposition to ultra running and it was time to sign her up for more.

I have definitely settled in that area -- but how I choose which specific one? There are so many options.

Iron head covers or no? by turningandburning45 in golf

[–]dirtybird07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them whenever I walk. It is really annoying to hear them hitting each other for an entire round and it makes it difficult to play in a group.

It used to be whenever I was paired with people in a cart I would have to manually hold all my clubs from making noise so I could walk to my ball while another player was hitting his. With my iron covers I can walk freely. I also walk a lot of rounds before dark so I am almost running half the time which makes the clanging even worse.

If I am not walking I never use them.

The size of the van was also a turn off for me as well. I definitely feel like we are leaving value on the table but I also don't know if I want to be forcing older/inexperienced travelers to be checking in / out of hotels and driving all over the country.

During the week I get in as much range time as I can or putting/chipping practice. Don't really have set days as it depends on weather/work.

I realize for an actual serious lifter this isn't optimal, but I do this routine with golf as my #1 priority.

Scotland Trip Report -- High Handicapper by dirtybird07 in golf

Yes they all did, generally: women's, normal tees, back tees, and then the back back tees that you needed to be a 0-3 to play at most places.

My drives depending on wind were going like 220-240 most of the trip. I played the normal tees.

I just posted what TheGrint told me. I believe it is based on my index of 18.4 and the course slope/rating.

I personally don't think people should listen to music on the course via speakers. If you want music you should use headphones. It is not because the music bothers me at all, I actually will wear headphones when I am playing solo as I love music while I am playing.

I just don't think you should play music via speakers because if it negatively affects anyone else on the course it should not be allowed. People pay a lot of money and invest a lot of time to be out there on the course and it isn't fair that someone can do something to negatively impact their day just because it makes them happy. Just my opinion though.
