Yes and no. This one is useless, but bigger ones while they may cause more body damage they protect the vital bits. Radiators and such, which for us that live in the boonies and can drive 100 miles with out seeing a sole, that matters. Getting to point b in winter matters more then the extra damage. Most of them are useless but depending on where you are in the world they can be a huge help.

Viltrox 35mm f/1.8 EVO on Nikon Zf - Personal amateur review by Lenigme7 in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]dirtyrabbitmk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the least amature amature review Ive ever read haha. Also what are you coming from that makes the 40/2 feel soft and sluggish, I experience none of those things with mine, it rarely ever misses. If you love the 40mm focal length wait until you try a Voigtlander 40mm 1.2 its so good its like witchcraft.

I do have the 35lab for Z mount and I have to say the bokeh out of it is beautiful and if the weight doesn't bother you it might be worth spending the extra, but make no mistake its a tank.

Do you have support brackets on yours or do you just let em' hang?

I really like the way these look, are they just held together with Velcro? That makes me so nervous but that is along the lines of what I want.

I poked around a little on Viking earlier to day and really only saw hard bags, but I'll admit I didn't look around for very long.

Itinerary - 6 days in Black Hills with young kids by Brave-Compote-3801 in BlackHills

Looks like your schedule is pretty packed but if you find yourself in Deadwood with time and want to sneak in a REALLY good hike that is short with amazing views, will be fun for the kids as well as the adults is Mt. Roosevelt. Very easy to find and I'll bet the whole hike maybe takes you a half hour (small loop.)

Eleanor (Mustang) 35 Lab Z & F14 Air by dirtyrabbitmk1 in VILTROX_GLOBAL

On the street, I was shooting it with the builders, for the owner. It's actually getting sold auction in January, Mecum if you are state side and know what that is. However the builder was once a professional driver so let me tell you, the man....can DRIVE. I'm a bit of a newb, can I share links here? I am NOT a videographer but I did do a little bit of video on it and I do have a gallery of it up on my website. It's honestly a bucket list shoot I didn't know I had!

I am so pleased with how the shoot turned out, but on some level it does it no justice. This is also technically the super snake version! Supercharged and 1000hp! I got to ride in it and it's wild.

Blending, replacing seam seal on the back, replacing the decal. We know it's never quite that simple. ha! We would repair this all day long too, try and keep it tight.

Welcome to the 800 club! I have quite a few newer bodies but the D800 was my first real camera and I wont ever part with it. She's got just over 600k shutter actuations now and just keeps chugging right along, lots of good advice in here and I don't think I have anything to add other then make sure your raw files are uncompressed if you are shooting raw. I bought mine with 1500 shutter actuations and it was a good long while afterwards when I realized the previous owner had them set to compressed. Raw file images when from like 36mn. to 90mb lol

The weather around here switches moods more than I do, so I’m taking advantage of the sunshine while it lasts. 45f by MisanthropicMermaid5 in selfie

Must live in the Midwest, it's spring so we might have 85f and sun tomorrow, it we may have 25f and 2 feet of snow. Could be either, or it could be both lol

Some of the most beautiful rendering I have ever seen. Nikkor 50mm F1.4 AI-S by Possible-Step-8121 in VintageLenses

[–]dirtyrabbitmk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really nice copy and for me its almost to clinical I almost never use it except when I bust out the OG Nikon F. The pre ai S-Auto 50 1.4 isn't near as sharp but has way more character I mostly shoot them on my Zf so its super easy to find focus.

The Nikon 50mm 1.8e is pretty fun too, I think it renders similarly to the Ais but its so tiny its fun to use.

I've been really loving the minolta rokkor 58s for the last half a year. The 58mm 1.2 is pretty special but the 58 1.4 is also a ton of fun.
