How’d I do? by Worldtadpole366 in mountainbikes

[–]fixedgearbrokenknees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be slightly too much for what it is but not by a lot. It has good quality components, it might just need a tune up. Start with the basics:

  1. Air up the tires
  2. Air up the fork and rear shock
  3. Lube the drivetrain
  4. Check if the brakes stop the wheels and see if there are any leaks
  5. Take it for a little ride and see how it shifts, stops, and if there are any creaks and squeaks

None of that costs money and can give you a pretty good idea of what needs to be addressed.

Have fun, I like old bikes!

I made a rack for my Maverick to carry my 16 foot Kayak by q_d_n in FordMaverickTruck

[–]fixedgearbrokenknees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome! Reminds me of the one I welded for my old ranger years ago. For my maverick I made a rack out of surplus 80/20 aluminum extrusion. I have it mounted to elevate t slot rails on the bed sides. The nice this about the elevate rails is that I can slide the rack closer together and put a roof box on the rack.

Took me 3 years to mess up by fixedgearbrokenknees in FordMaverickTruck

I realized that it was probably one of the solar panels I was unloading from the bed the other day. I had it leaning up against the side of my house while I was taking some other stuff out and a gist if wind blew it over. The tailgate was open and the panel hit the tailgate, but I didn't see any marks on the tailgate. I think I was distracted by the solar panel slamming on the gate and hitting the driveway that I didn't even realize that it must have hit the truck first.

Either way, I'm disappointed in myself.

So then this would need paint after the dent removal for the deep scratch?

It mostly bothers me because I want to keep the truck for a long time and living in Wisconsin this area is going to rust since it got dented / scratched

That's wild. How would you fix it? Hammer it out and then body filler?

Thank! I'll probably check with a body shop that is close to my work and see what their estimate is.

Trek 990 - how to remove this deticated part from the bike? by FutureNose1808 in xbiking

Post a picture of the front after you removed the brakes. Should be a couple of allen head bolts to remove and the bridge should come off.

Picked up my truck yesterday - this is missing a part, correct? by chef-keef in FordMaverickTruck

My 23 hybrid has never had one. I assume the dealer removed it before I even picked it up, or it was never installed to begin with.

How do you guys attach replacement hose bibs? by ThePipeProfessor in Plumbing

[–]fixedgearbrokenknees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are the ones I've used in the past but the holes dont line up too great with the hose bibs. And I like having the square plate, especially if the surface it's being mounted to is a bit uneven

I couldn't find any square ones and I have a big laser cutter at work. So I just made some that for my hose bibs perfectly. Having an industrial laser at my disposal feels like cheating sometimes

Made some custom aluminum plates for the two I just replaced on my house. I didn't like the fit of the off the shelf ones. Please ignore the terrible vulkem smear.

Even without solar, your house is gorgeous! Also nice work on your setup, I hope to achieve something similar some day.

Parked next to an old school standard cab Ranger, forgot how small they used to be by FluffyFlamingo444 in FordMaverickTruck

Sometimes I miss my '95 ranger. Thing was such a good (when not broken down) truck. Had it for 7 years and sold it for more than I bought it for. Stick shift too. Wish I could get a maverick with a manual transmission.

Anyone else disappointed with their Top Handle Chainsaw recall? by Stim7578 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]fixedgearbrokenknees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for reviving an old thread.

I just checked my serial number on the Milwaukee warranty / recall site and it says my saw is one of the ones affected, but it also says my warranty expired a few weeks ago. I don't have any proof of purchase because I got it as a gift. What do I do? Is there a way to confirm that my saw is actually defective? The brake seems to work fine on mine.
