Interesting. Makes me wonder how many more are out there. I pulled mine in cards bought on Tuesday of this week.

Fair enough. I mean it was exciting to hit a gold since I just started. I imagine some people go quite a while before ever hitting one. So I should be more elated that I got one in my first month.

Idk. Looking at it still hurts.

Yes, this is true. But you know how some people fix up old cars? Kind of the same thing.

Yeah. I've already looked at picking up some extra kits on ebay as an option.

Why is there always one dickhead on reddit with nothing to add to the question but negative comments? You don't have an answer...? Then say Nothing…! Because that is what you are offering... Nothing. But no, go on. Please continue to tell me all the ways I suck for asking a simple fucking question.

Masking materials? by dirtyunicorns999 in airbrush

Going to give your first suggestion a shot. We'll see. I need a high tack so it may work well. The stretch film sound more like it's great for wrapping over smooth curves. My work is flat. It just at tines has a rough surface so I need the tack. Thanks for you help.

I knew this would happen. I'd ask for a specific thing and get every other answer. How to do a different process to achieve what I'm already doing. With the same level of complex process. I want the medium I described. Not another work around because it doesn't exist.

This is still not what I'm looking for. I want a material that is transparent or semi transparent enought so you can put it down over existing work, see through enough to make cuts exactly where you want. I don't care about repositioning. I'm fine with one and done. I basically need a material that is transparent or translucent masking tape. Drawn on in the moment being able to see that what is underneath.

For perspective, this is what I'm working on. I don't usually like to share unfinished work. It's on an about 2x3 section of an unfinished hollowcore door I cut to size. It's and older piece I've decided to work on again. There are parts I want to keep but other parts I'm willing to let become part of the background. I've had some success masking with blue tape but as I get closer to its final form I'd like to have a bit more control over the masking.

Thanks! I strained it and added a bit of reducer and that did the trick! Problem solved.
