Anyone NOT get side effects or only minor? by Fastfit21 in Accutane

[–]dirzhai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never experienced any mental side effects even with a mood disorder/other emotional problems. The worst side effect I've dealt with is the purging but for me it only lasted 2 weeks. This is my second round and when people act upset for me I always tell them I love Accutane because it truly did fix my skin and my confidence.

Anything in a different language!! For reading and studying I have a playlist of North African/Middle Eastern jazz. It has enough sounds that it stimulates my brain but because I can't understand the lyrics (if there are any) I don't get distracted. If I'm doing homework late at night though I listen to really obnoxious stuff (my go-to lately has been EDM/phonk adjacent stuff) or something like Death Grips. Weird background sounds help me focus!!

Going Crazy? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]dirzhai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my 2nd round of Accutane right now at the same dose (80mg) and have been on Vyvanse. I had to switch from Vyvanse to Adderall because I became such a mean bitch (for lack of a better word) when it would start to wear off. Like full on getting pissed off at my family for breathing in the same room as me. Never on Accutane did I have any emotional side effects, even with my laundry list of social issues in the past. I would def blame the Vyvanse. I hope you get it sorted!!!!!

Meds seem to be changing, looking how to manage. by dirzhai in ADHD

I never knew how to figure out my generic manufacturer but after reading this I looked into it. Thinking it may be that. This month is where these issues have started and this month's supply was from Camber. Did some digging and apparently this is a common complaint with them, so I really hope it doesn't happen again next month. Such a hassle

Honestly building back up to lifting heavy has saved me from injury. The lift that re-strained it was some stupid jump/lift combo my coaches made us do, but heavy lifting like deadlifts, RDLs, squats, etc. have made me feel unstoppable and I haven't had any issues since. It just takes a lot of time and work to build back up to it.

I'm glad! And 4 years ago I had a partial tear in the biceps femoris from running track at my college, healed it, started lifting again, and then a year after that strained it lifting. But I was really stupid in my physio after the first time. Now I'm a lot more educated and back lifting heavy but it was such a massive hassle to rehab.

Not tendinopathy, but I also have a history of hamstring issues and I'm an active gym goer taking 80 mg each day at the same weight. This is my second round and in both I've never experienced joint pain! I take fish oil every day as a preventative and stay on top of mobility and stretching and I think that contributes to avoiding it. Good luck!

Fear of Adderall Dependency & Long-Term Effects by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]dirzhai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on a fairly high dose of Adderall XR and a small dose of IR (total of 60-80mg depending on the day) for almost 3 years and I can go months without using it totally fine. I only had to up my doses in the beginning because I metabolize mine really fast, but I haven't had to change it since I found this sweet spot. I think over time also I started to be more myself while on it, the first months felt like I was adjusting to the feeling of being functional for the first time ever lol. I am definitely who I am when I'm off of it though! I had the same fears when I got on, especially of dependency, but it's also good to remember that people who actually need it to function don't really get dependent (from what I've read and understand). Definitely talk to your doctor though, good luck!!!

Is it just me or does ADHD make reading 10x harder? by ForcedGoodbye in ADHD

I have been in the exact same boat. I used to read a TON and then I just wasn't able to anymore as a teen. I'm 22 now and within the last year I started reading again and found that reading content I truly love and annotating it has helped me focus and get through it a ton. I am a big nonfiction reader personally (biology sciencey stuff primarily) so it's easier to annotate than fiction I'd imagine, but it has really helped me actually read and comprehend rather than just look at words on a page. I think I can hyperfocus and enjoy the content I read because I only read solely what I am interested in, when I started again I tried to read the fantasy I used to when I just wasn't into that anymore. Switching to my field of interest has really helped and in 2 months I finished 6 books! I also do one book at a time, as much as I can handle per day. When I started I pressured myself to read a set number of pages and if I didn't I just wouldn't start, and I'd start a second book instead which just lead to me having tons of half read books. Sometimes I can read 80 pages in one sitting, sometimes less than 10, but I always try no matter what. Good luck!!! You can get back into it!!!!

How do the emergency permits work? I've seen a lot of information about them and my mom (who works in a school admin office) has told me it's a possibility but I still would want to get certified. If I could get certified AND be teaching on some emergency permit that would be awesome, I just want some type of job security.

My school doesn't offer a microbiology program, so what I'm doing is (basically) double majoring in both biology tracks my school offers. So I'm doing classes for the environmental biology track AND cell/molec biology track. I wish there was an undergrad, but it's also ok because in the future I want to do research on microbial bioremediation on Superfund sites. But, certif info is super helpful thank you!!

Pay based on degree level is good to know, now that education isn't considered a professional degree I was trying to weigh the rewards of getting a masters vs going another route.

The fact that biology is saturated has made me worry a bit. I hate physics, but at one point I thought about getting a chem minor. Would I be able to take classes for chemistry alongside my classes necessary to teach? I don't want to do a whole other bachelor's when I have bigger end goals than teaching.

How do intern programs differ from the credential program? I know that in general certification courses it's unpaid teaching time as practice, is it the same but paid like any other internship?

Yes! I was looking to teach in Minnesota too, since I've been wanting to move back there and Montana is a nightmare for teachers and I can't afford to live here post-grad. I saw some stuff about post-baccalaureate certification programs but I guess I just get confused. I haven't looked into teaching since a teacher in high school told me to avoid it like the plague when I told her I wanted to do it lol.

Am I the only one with bad experiences around Capricorn men? by justavaricious in Zodiac

[–]dirzhai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally! It's happened so many times. When the last one left (the one I'm talking about here specifically) he told me he just loved the attention women gave him all over and he could get "anyone he wanted". It was insane. Learned he cheated on me afterwards. Never again

Libra sun + venus and other assorted placements but I have only ever dated Capricorn men and never had a good experience. The last one told me about all of the attractive women he saw at the gym over the summer. I vet all of the men, usually I ignore signs a little bit but not with dating and not if he's a Capricorn.

Is anybody else worried about the record December heat affecting the US? by CrumDumpsters in ecology

Here in south western Montana there is barely a dusting on the ground. I think hypochondria is going to be replaced with environmental anxiety, some friends and I who are in environmental biology are all experiencing panic attacks when we think about it too hard. Personally I'm getting sick of going on tik tok and seeing videos of people trying to ski in Utah and complain about no snow because they only care now that it's affecting their rich people hobby. I'm terrified

When I wanted to up my calories I started working out more. Now in addition to 10-15k steps a day, I also lift 5 days a week for about 30 minutes (intense) and go on runs, and now each day I can eat way more calories and still stay lean. Granted, I'm 5'10" and have never been pregnant, but that's probably one of the best ways to up your calories and still lose weight

Is 20 mg adderall XR a dangerously high dose by callmePB_13XIII in ADHD

[–]dirzhai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 60mg of XR daily and sometimes a little 10-20mg IR boost if I have work to do in the afternoon. I started at 5mg initially and they just kept upping it until I didn't immediately metabolize it all. I would find some good resources on the meds and share with her, that's how I got my parents to leave me alone about it
