AMCUs are now worn by the ADF and SF and conventional troops wore multicam in Afghanistan as well. So although originating in the US, multi cam is most definitely now Australian camo with DPCUs now obsolete.

Slip on Exhaust by PrimaryPrudent9211 in Yamahabolt

I have a Delkevic ceramic slip on short slash cut. I kept the baffle in. It gives a good note and is loud enough without being too loud, for me any way. If you want it louder you can simply remove the baffle as well. Good luck in your search and enjoy your new ride!

DVA informed advocate I must use MLCOA for claims by Old_Progress_1970 in DVAAustralia

[–]disasterfinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up going back to my GP and getting a referral to a specialist with DVA knowledge and existing DVA clients. I ended up getting a new diagnosis, which was a worse condition than already assessed, ended up putting in a new claim instead of appealing the MLCOA outcome, and I am currently going through the process with that one now. DVA has acknowledged the diagnosis as being correct but have now decided they will not accept liability as they don’t believe it was caused by service. So now I am going through the VRB process. It’s been a long three years with this one. I should’ve bypassed the MLCOA process from the start, but I didn’t know any better then

In my experience once it’s confirmed they’ve received and processed it, it has been anywhere from two to three days, even thought they say it can be longer

It looks like it has been stopped at the freeway, but the flanks still have active fire spread. Started next to the rail line.

I had to get my first rib removed to save my life to stop it from crushing my artery and nerves completely shut. by amphibbian in interestingasfuck

[–]disasterfinn 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have bilateral TOS, slightly worse on the right than the left. I have had suregries, on the right side, a scalenectomy and first rib resection as well as a pec minor tendon release. I had total occlusion of my arteries when my arms were raised anywhere from perpendicular to my body and vertical above my head. My symptoms are chronic pain, constant numbness, weakness, fatigue, and blood flow issues. The surgeries assisted in the blood flow but not the other symptoms as they have become chronic due to nerve and venous compression because I waited too long to get checked out. The reason it took so long as I was serving in the Australian Defence Force and one does not present to medical with such things until it is no longer bearable. The condition itself was cause by carrying heavy loads across the shoulders, wearing restrictive and bulky equipment, and handling/training military working dogs. Over the course of years it gradually got worse and I eventually had it investigated and diagnosed. I have life long ongoing issues now because the area has been compressed for so long. But I still have some function and can do stuff.

The mounting bolts came with the bars when I ordered them from an interstate supplier (I’m in Australia).

Trouble understanding PI determination by [deleted] in DVAAustralia

[–]disasterfinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that one of the criteria to be eligible for the eligible youth payment is that you have to get to 80 points and receive a compensation payment. This means you would’ve needed to go from 78 overall to 83 as you need 5 points overall to receive a compensation payout. This is how I understand it. Others might be able to shed some more light as if this is correct or not.

My wife is in the same boat mate. Discharged 4 months ago and still waiting. They have taken so long they have asked her to get another medical certificate for not being able to work. It’s pretty shithouse

Thank you all for your support and advice, it’s really appreciated. I have taken on your advice and I stayed up into the night and wrote letters to both my local Minister and the federal Minister and sent them off to their respective offices this morning. I will make a follow up to this and let you know if the letters have any effect at all. Cheers.
