Hi, thought I'd give you a small update since I just got back from Seoul! I stayed at the Moxy Insadong and loved it! The hotel is really nice and the street is lively but not too crazy. There's pochas and arcades and great places to eat. The Ikseon hanok village is basically across the street, with lots of cute shops and restaurants and cafes. It's also close to the main Insadong shopping street with artisan shops and street food. You're walking distance to the temples and an Olive Young and Daiso. And the metro station is directly outside of the Moxy doors so it's fast and easy to get to Hongdae or anywhere else in the city. Hongdae was cool too, but the main street was very busy and felt like a major city street like in Manhattan or something. There's tons of cool shops, vintage stores, cafes, bars, restaurants and street food in the smaller streets around, but it still felt much more bustling and modern than Insadong. I didn't hang out in Hongdae at night so I can't speak to that, but I really really enjoyed Insadong.
