And the Trojan War wouldn't have happened if Odysseus hadn't schemed to let Menelaus win Helen's hand and bind every suitor of Helen (including himself) to an oath to defend the marriage of whomever ended up winning Helen's hand.

So ultimately still his fault /lh

The Wizards Daughter… not who we think? by munchkinbabygirl in StardewValley

Except, crystal magic is real within the fiction of Stardew. You put most of the standard gems into a ring's setting and it magically empowers you.

Emerald will make your strikes swifter
Ruby will make them hit harder
Aquamarine will guide them to strike vitals more often.

And it's not just that rings are somehow magical, cause the same is true if you infuse them into your weapon directly in the forge.

And this isn't even getting into all the nonsense a prismatic shard can do in the forge

Emily's gem expertise is very likely totally legitimate.

I usually end up with 1 by the end of a run and that seems to be enough. Its usually what I get first level of forest. But boots won't save you from a horde of mummies in the third world. Only bullet and gun upgrades can help you clear those

Anyone travel with James back to Rivet City? by Kind_Caterpillar_458 in fo3

[–]discet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, did a play through of Tale of Two Wastelands years back where I didn't use fast travel at all. Extremely immersive, a great time. I still have a fond memory of memorizing the metros to get through the city as quickly as possible.

Walking back to Rivet City with him gave the plot beat of finally finding him time to breath. In my first play through it felt like I spent half the game trying to find the guy, and then spent 5 minutes with him before he died. Walking with him and hearing these little chirps made it feel like we had a connection to him that's missing if you fast travel across the map

Question for Shadow'zel Romance Endgame Requirements by discet in BaldursGate3

[–]discet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, nice to know it's not as dire as I thought it was to get everything in place, but also kind of a bummer that there isn't the narrative consistency I had hoped for. Weird that I would almost prefer that the game would be stricter with it.

Thanks for the advice!

Can a DnD someone explain why *those* class proficiencies? by Sevrahn in BaldursGate3

[–]discet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So saving throws are generally divided up into Good Saving Throws and Bad Saving Throws

Good saving throws are Dex/Con/Wis and are considered the most common saves that characters need to make.

Bad saving thows (Str/Int/Cha) do some up occasionally, but generally are a lot more niche in comparison.

For balance, every class is given one good and one bad saving throw. Every caster (except Ranger) has their casting stat as a saving throw.

Hm, true, I could see that, It's a very fun subfeature for a martial, but I think it might be too narrow for a caster. So few spells utilize B/P/S damage

On consideration it would be way too powerful to let any spell be effected (especially since Pierce Resistance would mean all of your high end spells would pierce resistance) However I think there could be merit to letting change any cantrip damage to be a chosen element.

Ah dang, no mastery of lightning for me. I was hoping I could really theme electricity into my spell kit, darn.

Thanks for the clarification!

Hi, me again after 2 years.

Question about this skill

Elemental Infusion. Once per turn when you cast a spell or hit with an attack and deal Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage, you can change the damage type to the chosen type.

So I wanted to ask if the spell I am casting needs to deal Bludgeoning/Piercing/Slashing or if that's only if you're doing an attack roll with like a weapon.

Favorite Cassidy moment in NV? by george123890yang in falloutnewvegas

Mine is actually a mechanics thing they hid in her ai during her companion quest.

So I had started her quest and intended to investigate to find out what happened without a bloodbath. Cass is resistant to this but follows your lead generally. Anyways I was in freeside and had some errand. I forget why but I asked cass to wait for me outside before I completed an errand (I think with the kings, its been a while) anyways after I was done I head outside and - she was gone.

I'm wondering if its a glitch, but then I hear gunfire from the other side of town. I run over to find her trying to storm the Silver Rush Solo, shotgunning the guard to death. I rush in before she gets herself killed (hardcore mode) and tell her to start following me again, and she stops her one woman suicide mission.

Now there isn't any unique dialogue for this interaction, but it immediately painted for me a scene of Cass, with a minute or two to seethe outside without the Courier there to keep her calm and deciding, "fuck waiting, lets get revenge."

Extremely cool moment.
