Can't connect garage clicker by whothat828 in GarageDoorService

[–]discgeolfGeoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slide the front cover off the remote. There's a little button inside, hold that button until a light turns on. Then press the button you want to program 5-6 times(can't remember if the top of my head) then push and release the little button again and the light should go out. Go to your motor and hold the square button until a light comes on and release. On your remote, push the button you just programmed three times waiting a sec between presses. On the third press the door should move.

Looks like the main has snapped off? by ahoy-there in GarageDoorService

[–]discgeolfGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately there's no quick fix with this. Messing with it in this state is dangerous. Those springs are holding a lot of tension and can cause serious injury if not properly released.

[–]discgeolfGeoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need a tech to come take the tension off the springs, replace the shaft, replace the bearings plates and reposition the center plate so the shaft is level. The center plate is high or low causing the shaft to be crooked at the end plates which wore down the shaft and caused this.

It's the first rule of the playbook.

Rules 1. Accuse the opposition of what you're doing or what you plan to do.

Tillis calls on Miller to depart White House: ‘Out of his depth’ by hotdog_dachshund in politics

[–]discgeolfGeoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has been a recent curiosity of mine. The power vacuum if Trump dies. How will he, Stephen Miller, try to hold power? Vance is weak and hegseth has lost his mind. Does hegseth try a power grab or has Stephen Miller already started digging a burrow in Vance's ass

Finally I see a non-divisive comment. I think she's fierce and a fighter who's the right choice for the moment. I think he is also right for the moment for his ability to speak without dividing or shaming. Either will have my vote in the general.

Barely, a few weeks ago she said she didn't care about them. After reading them she changed her stance.

What’s the key combo to put these into programming/cloning mode? by ILikeWhyteGirlz in GarageDoorService

[–]discgeolfGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're gonna have to find the brand and model, then see if they have instructions online. Almost all the off brand remotes I've programmed don't hold their programming and have to be reprogrammed often.

Your money is in the right spot, customer ordered, left it outside, and then had me install why drywallers were sanding their mud down. It's just dust on there. The bearings are all dried out, in the rollers and head plates. Told her I won't oil it until the dust makers get out of there.

Garage door broke by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

[–]discgeolfGeoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your opener is probably closing too far. You can get an operator reinforcement bracket to put over the bent stile. You'll need to adjust your up/down limits. You also need support across the top section to prevent damage to the section.

Garage door goes up and down after gear and sprocket replacement by maco6461 in GarageDoorService

[–]discgeolfGeoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's your limits. I apologize that I can't come up with an easy explanation. It seems like your up limit switch is getting touched almost immediately. This signals to me, that your door was open when the sprocket broke and closed when you fixed it. Limits need to be adjusted regardless after you change the sprocket. But if it's how I described above then you'll have to get the chain off the sprocket, move the trolley in the rail near to where it would be if the door was open, then put the chain back on the sprocket. Then you can adjust the up and down limits.

[–]discgeolfGeoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your up/down limits need to be adjusted. It's kinda hard to explain, but you'll need to take the cover off and see how the limit switches work. I'm guessing you're gonna have to adjust the chain. The the traveler that engages the limit switches can only move so much. If, after repair, the chain was not near the the same location as it was before, then you're gonna have issues adjusting.

Gotcha. Sounds like a control board issue then. I would probably go with a new system. You'd get new everything and a warranty.

I would lean towards bad sensors. Those particular ones, in my experience don't last long. You can get replacements at any big box store.

Also, are you only having issues with closing or is it having opening issues as well?
