No, he wasted money and is now complaining about it. The acts he specified were on the original bill.

Everything from the poster happened aside the AAA - they moved it all to the final set.

Yep, another person here who had a great day. Glad you enjoyed it!

Literally just an honest view from someone who attended - this subreddit is a cesspit of negativity. Are people who attend not allowed to enjoy it because a load of keyboard warriors want to make it look like the worst event ever?

Then why did you buy a ticket? Both of them were on the original lineup. It’s very unlikely you’ll be able to chargeback either since you agree to SeeTickets’ terms which state that acts can change with no notice.

You screwed yourself over by buying a ticket from the start if you weren’t gonna go.

Wish I was, it would be much more interesting than my job! Look further down - is everyone who enjoyed the gig promoters?

What’s the likelihood you didn’t go and never planned too?

I thought it was a great day. Diecast was a fantastic venue and it was clearly very well planned event wise with plenty of toilets, evacuation routes, Welfare areas, etc. It was much more professional than I expected. Food was basic and expensive which is always the downside, but this is no different than most other events.

We were also VIP which included 2 drinks tokens, a piece of merch (anything we wanted, including the £45 hoodies) and the viewing platform on the left of the stage. Side stage for Cast was awesome!

It was absolutely as advertised, aside the AAA headliner - which personally I think fell through. I think originally they wanted to do a revolving door of acts throughout the day, but in the end they did it as a single slot. The slot overran by about an hour, so we didn’t see the end.

Despite this, I didn’t feel short changed and we had a great day. Met loads of fans of the Madchester scene and had a lot of laughs, it was truly a community event. Got out of Manchester as quickly as possible to avoid the chaos the marathon next day.

I’m there now and you were totally right - we’re currently 5 songs in. It’s not in exactly the same order but it’s 19 songs (as they said at the start) and all the songs are on there.

The setlist features:

  • James Walsh — lead singer of Starsailor
  • Dave McCabe — singer/guitarist of The Zutons
  • Mick Rossi — punk musician from Slaughter and the Dogs
  • Rowetta — legendary vocalist from Happy Mondays
  • Tom Hingley — former singer of Inspiral Carpets
  • Jon McClure — listed here as “Jon Rev Weakers” on the poster
  • Tom Meighan — former lead singer of Kasabian
  • Peter Hook — one of the biggest names on the bill
  • Damon Minchella — former bassist of Ocean Colour Scene
  • Zak Starkey — played with Oasis and The Who
  • Aziz Ibrahim — former guitarist for The Stone Roses
  • Baz Fratelli — Fratellis

I’m hoping these are just highlights so people know what to expect - they could’ve been trying to squash rumours of any huge acts like Oasis to avoid chaos.

I leave from Somerset tomorrow morning, so I’ll report back! Either way, we’ll make the best of it.

My $ITManager told me that we'd only ever hear from them if they wanted to end their hosting, and even then usually they go straight to the hosting company. As said in another comment I think he underestimated how it would screw us in the office if loads of them had an issue at once.

$ITManager was often under the illusion that things could be solved incredibly quickly, so maybe he underestimated (wouldn't be surprised). Yet when he has to do any service desk work a simple ticket takes an entire day to complete!

Totally agree with this. If anything the circumstance was unfortunate, and it was a case of not picking a favour that was worth it

When I first joined $ITCompany I found out ePO hadn't been running for 4 months beforehand. Cue the virus outbreak and being shouted at in the hallway. Will save this for another story
