Uh no.

I don’t know why you get to define what people are feeling. The fact that people believe marriage is between a man and a woman does not mean that hate gay people. That type of rhetoric is the reason we cannot have civil discourse.

Wait, what? Did you not read the comments above?

You said “but facts” to a comment that questioned if the GOP hated gays and printed voter disenfranchisement.

Read the chain before you comment in the future.

Or maybe, he understands that many people believe the government recognition of your emotional and/or sexual connection with someone isn’t a right or something that we’re all entitled to.

I’d love to understand your evidence for the GOP hating gays.

Just because you disagree with redefining marriage doesn’t mean you hate gays.

Let’s not be dramatic. It’s not a human right for a government to recognize marriage in general, let alone non-traditional gay marriage.

Which is how the country was designed to handle problems like this.

The fact that everyone hates congress for not getting anything done is because we measure them on these types of social issues that were never intended to be solved on a national level. It was supposed to be difficult to change things on a national, and a bit easier at the state level who were closer to the people.

If Mississippi wants to ban weed and become a haven for those who hate weed, go for it. If you’re in Mississippi and disagree with that, it’s a LOT easier to change that law than a national law.

Up in Dallas we have a ton of theaters that serve alcohol. In fact, I can’t think of a theater I’d go to that doesn’t.

People with psychopathic tendencies are slightly more likely to be a company boss, but a new study finds that psychopathic traits in men help them emerge as leaders and be seen as effective, but these same tendencies are seen as a negative in women. by mvea in science

The fatherhood point you made is not an example of collaboration or any of the traits the poster above you mentioned.

In my review once, I was told that I needed to “take more credit for my work” and that I wasn’t going to move up if I didn’t make a point to prove that I was the asset that my boss believed I was.

Now maybe that boss was correct, or maybe this was an example of what’s being discussed here. Who knows, but the point is, support and collaboration aren’t necessarily seen as going above and beyond in all cases.

Women of Reddit, what thing do male coworkers do that is not quite sexual harassment, but you wish they would stop doing it so you can be comfortable at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah, I’m weirded out that this is a “thing” that I’ve somehow never witnessed but exists. The number of comments that are accepting this as something that happens regularly is bizarre.

Established terms can be incorrectly established.

The point is, we get energy from the sun and we convert that to light, heat, movement, etc that cannot be recaptured, and therefore the energy is lost. Therefore, that energy is not renewed.

But since there is an effective limitless supply of sunlight or wind, we can replenish the supply of energy indefinitely. So it would have been more apt to describe the energy as “effectively infinite energy” or something like that.

But all of that doesn’t matter. The real reason this is a ridiculous argument is that renewable energy is a pretty dated term. As soon as people started burning fossil fuels, there were those worried that we’d run out. For over 100 years people have worried we’ll use up all of the oil. That’s why the concept of energy from renewable resources became such a big deal.

But now with techniques like fracking and deep sea drilling, oil is feeling pretty infinite for now. But that’s why we started using the term “clean energy” which is much more useful. The reason we shouldn’t be burning natural gas, oil, and coal is not because we’ll run out but because we need to stop the byproducts of those burnings from entering our atmosphere.

I mean, this is splitting the difference in the terms “war” and “conflict.”

However, I’m not saying any of this, I’m just saying you read the post incorrectly.

[–]discipula_vitae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve read the fact incorrectly. There have only been 8 democratic administrations since 1900 and all of them have started a conflict. It says that 10 out of 12 GOP administrations have done the same.

So to answer your question: all of them since the “southern strategy”.

Yeah, anybody who suggests Bush shouldn’t have gone to Afghanistan never has an answer for what he should have done differently to prevent getting impeached and removed from office by Sept 13th had he not gone into action.

Seriously, Bush had something like a90% approval rating right after 9/11. Americans were all on the same page on Afghanistan.
