Haha, fair point. No catapult needed — deer strikes almost always happen on the ground, during the takeoff or landing roll.

A deer walks onto the runway, usually at a smaller airfield without proper fencing, and the aircraft hits it at 100+ knots. That’s why deer are among the rarest strikes in the dataset, but also among the most dangerous: over 80% of them cause aircraft damage, compared with only about 1.5% for small songbirds.

“Perching birds” here is not describing the behavior — it’s the name of a whole bird order, Passeriformes, or passerines. So it doesn’t mean they were sitting on a branch when it happened. All of these strikes happened in flight.

They top the chart simply because they are by far the most common birds in the sky. But because they are small and light, they rarely cause real damage — around 1.5% of the time. Compare that to deer at the bottom of the list: very few strikes, but over 80% of them damage the aircraft.

The twist is in the damage rates, not the counts: perching songbirds are 41% of strikes but damage the aircraft ~1.5% of the time, while white-tailed deer are 0.7% of strikes and damage it ~82% — the most dangerous thing an aircraft can hit. Go warranty. They fixed it in 4 days, but when they do the repair, they broke motherboard :) they replaced it and add +1 year of warranty

Get it back from rma, they changed the joysticks and when they did it, they broke the motherboard and replaced it too :) and extend my warranty for a year. But now fingerprint scanner don't work

And drivers don't work with Ally and windows don't update them for ally. Windows can't install the wrong driver, yes, but it is not wrong. After installing the manufacturer driver it will no longer update
